Tamarin Calanis - An RP character of mine, who currently has no role in the present timeline - although he has quite a role in the history of the Northern Kingdoms. Basically, a cursed Dark Knight who went insane and went on a murderous rampage. Where I got the name, I don't know. Calanis came from Calamity (the character was planned before the name was chosen), and I just slapped Tamarin on the front.

Cheveyo Chowilawu - From the realm of unpronouncable and hard-to-spell names. Mom gave me this one a few years ago. I still use it... sometimes.

Let me guess, was it FFVI? I recall seeing Kefka in there.

I had a serious problem with your Cheveyo name. How in the world do you say that last bit? And your mom came up with it.. how? Tamarin Calanis is easy, thought I think I still call you Cheveyo if referring to you...

When I started playing MMORPGs, one of my biggest concerns was having someone take my name. So, I set out to create my own online alias that was so unique and made so little sense that nobody else could (or would) possibly duplicate it. So, I went into a few fantasy name generators, spliced a few of the names together, and voila; Jarukoth was born.

Later, Jarukoth became the codename of a fictional character I created, whose exploits you can observe in the Story and Sim-Battle forums.

My original one, moo117, was started when I was originally entering my initials into LoZ:ALttP. Mine are MPS, but I accidentally hit o. Frustrated, I hit o again, and thought it was hilarious. 11/7 is my birthday.

However, this nick has special origins to it that few would ever guess. Go ahead, try.

I've gone by a few names... My AIM, Rale9891, stemmed from Rale being the name of my bard in my D&D campaign. I used to call myself flash as well, just because I thought the Flash was a cool superhero. The numbers 9891 have a secret hidden meaning that few, if any, people figure out.

Here and nearly everywhere else nowadays, I am Grey. I like Grey because it sounds more sophisticated than Gray, and it also represents balance and neutrality, which I think is pretty friggin' sweet.

Other names I went by were Janus, which stemmed from my obsession with Chrono Trigger (and now is represented by my most known roleplaying character), and Elias, an alias that I used in one of my first RO servers.

Switzerland was from IRC, when I started preaching about being neutral.

Oxnard Montalvo is from The Angry Beavers, and owns hard.

My username is simply the genitive form of the Latin noun beneficium (pronounced "beh neh fee kee oohm"), beneficii (pronounced "beh neh fee kee ee") (n) which means "good deed" or "kindness." My name is not in any way, shape, fashion, or form Ben and I resent people who call me Ben because it's just not me.

I've had beneficii for at about 3-4 years and was originally an RA2 Westwood Online account because I was trying to think of a new one to replace my old one that I got tired of.

I had to come up with something when I registered to PPN (later known as TAN). When I created the username, I was pretty short compared to the others in my class back then. Therefore, I thought about "Short hacker", but then decided that "Small hacker" would sound better. I didn't care so much about it, since I only signed up to be able to send a PM to a member, get a reply, and then forget about the board. (It didn't take long before I changed my mind. Also, I never sent that PM.) I can't remember why I removed the space from the name, though.

Ironcally, the other one who figured it out was ||bass. Which is also an admin. He asked me one day why I named myself cat or something like that.

And yeah, i'm going to keep it. Almost had it for two years now. Why change?

I want a name like that too.

I got my username from a villian from a Spiderman magazine. Search for it on google.

I've been here for a long while, but I've never really told the whole truth of where I got my name from. So here it is..

It's actually from a game (how original) called Shadowman. I couldn't find a proper site for it, so I'm just linking to that wikipedia article..

You'll see where I got my name from in this list of characters. Of course, later on I noticed that this was also a comic..

There's no real reason behind me taking that name other than that, at the time, I thought it sounded cool.

A lot of people have problems saying it. Quite a few can't spell it, even though all you have to do is copy-paste it. They leave off the second E in Cheveyo most of the time...

As a public service, though, I'll tell you how to say that last bit. Chow - e (long E) - law - wu.

... and since it was brought up, the difficulty people had with spelling and pronouncing Cheveyo Chowilawu was one of the reasons I changed it to Tamarin Calanis.

As for how, she took it from a book of Native American names or something... I don't know exactly how she picked it...

Yep. I tried to come up with a creative name when I was registering, but I couldn't think of any. YD was no help either. >8( So I ended up just using my actual name. I'm that uncreative. If I ever think of something good, I may change my name, but after almost a year.. I've got nothing.
