If you have a screen shot that big in size do one of 2 things: 1. Convert it to .png 2. Resize the image in pixels. It should be .png to begin with however. NEVER upload .bmp images. EVER. |

5.61? Argh... that's terrible. Are you using a .BMP, or is your image huge for some reason, or what? You need to change your image to .gif or .png or something if it's not already, and if for some reason it's really effing bit you need to fix that as well.

That's huge... don't upload the whole level. That's not a screenshot, it'd be terrible to load, and nobody wants to see the entire level until they play it anyway.

Originally posted by ultimate-koopa It's still a .bmp picture. Changing the file name does not affect the image in any way. You have to load it in a program (like Paint) and save it as a .jpg to create a real .jpg file. (But use .png instead. It's better.) |

I've opened it in MS Paint, and resaved it as a PNG file, now it's only about 75 kb, but now ImageShack won't load (for me at least). It worked before. EDIT: ImageShack worked again, so here's a pic: It's just the start of the level. (edited by ultimate-koopa on 08-04-05 05:08 PM) |

Yeah no offence but that sucks compared to what I made. Mine uses a SMB3 style ocean BG with loads of other SMB3 GFX, it looks just like my GFX hack. I'm on Macro Zone now, it's a pretty easy game to port. Hopefully I'll be done soon.

Why don't you all just use the SML2 GFX and recolor them?

Here's some screens of the two levels I've made so far: How do they look? |

Yep that looks pretty awesome, as usual...Kinda like what SMB2 would have been like if it was in Mario All-Stars. Which is good. How will you do the Star Zone levels? (edited by richyawyingtmv on 08-05-05 09:39 AM) |

We have another winner. Anyone tried SML1? I ripped a level from it, but it proved to be quite difficult, since the game seems to use 8x8 tiles. |

I know you can't (or at least, I don't think you can) put SML2 music (GBS file, or MIDI files) as SPC files in SMW or SMAS, and there's 7 different stage BGMs in SML2 (not including the bosses), and only 3 in SMB3 and 4 in SMW. What music are you using for the others, or are you putting music from all 3 SMB games?

MKM, That post was completely unnecessary. Obviously he meant to say SML2.

Peter_ac had no less right to tell MM that than you had to tell Peter_ac what you did. Being a mod doesn't make your posts any more sound than the posts of nonmembers. Kyouji Craw is a mod and if we all took his advice most of us would be dead. (This isn't exaggeration. A lot of his advice involves killing yourself.) Being a mod lets you delete, edit, and trash posts, view some restricted files, and it turns your name to an extremely light shade of blue. Last I checked, a lighter font color != WHOMG absolute authority. You enforce the rules, you do not make them. |

Do we need to get into this argument again? What it boils down to is a moderator has a position of authority (whether they deserve it or not is something we can debate at another time) and while their word isn't law, speaking from the capacity of a moderator for a forum should incur a certain amount of respect. Pete, god bless him, is not a moderator, and thus has no right or responsibility to presume to tell others how to behave any where on the board.Originally posted by Glyph PhoenixYou're exactly right with this point, but perhaps you should reread the rules? Here's a link directly to the subject in question. Look at number 12 on the Don'ts. Whether you agree or not, that's a pretty cut and dry violation on pete's part by all the standards accepted by the current staff. If you want to debate this with my further, just send me a PM and I'll be more than happy to continue. We've both gone off-topic enough, don't you think? |
