I'm fiddling around with Sappy (doing a pokemon sapphire hack) and it just seems like it's only able to play the songs... I was hoping to be able to write my own songs (I have finale and can get it to a MIDI format). Is this possible with this program, or would I have to go about it another way? Thanks.

Even though you were right to assume MIDI, I'm afraid you're boned. There's only one way to convert MIDI to Sappy data, and that's through an official Nintendo tool we can't just give you. Plus, it requires a lot of hand-hacking. Plus, the instruments will be wrong.
