I generally battle OU teams with my UU team. It's a nice challenge.

EDIT: Goddamn Jumpluff. I hate that thing. If my Electrode is down, which it usually is, theres nothing I can do about it. Even if I bust Vileplume out, they usually Encore my Sunny Day and get a free switch, or put me to sleep and Giga Drain slowly to death, depending on its moveset. Not all rely on Leech Seed, apparently.

I don't even have any attacks on it. I think the set is leech seed, stun spore, sleep powder, substitute.

Really, though, I rather prefer making theme teams to UU teams. Like my alphabet teams, where everything starts with a certain letter.

Huh? Stun spore and sleep powder? How does that work? Usually I at least see Encore if theres no attacks.

I like UU teams because its hard to choose the pokemon for them and sometimes harder to choose their movesets. With most OU pokemon, movesets can be really predictable. Just looking at Jumpluff, you can see the variety, even if they all stick to Leech Seed as the main strategy.

Well generally when they're asleep and seeded they switch to something else but then stun spore and yeah and then their whole team is all screwed and such

Ahh, I get it. I'd still prefer to use Encore, but thats a nice move to throw in that few people would expect.

And what if people use attacks that´s super on you, then?

My favorite stat attacks are Thunder wave/Stun Spore, Sleep Powder and Confuse Ray.

Jumpluff shouldnt be taking hits in the first place. It's point is to put something to sleep, leech seed, and subsitute until they die from the seed. With Leftovers, you almost recover off all the damage taken from Subsitute every turn.
In UU, it's the second fastest pokemon (Electrode wins), so theres little worry about something outspeeding you.

So Jumpluff is fast, you say?

Hmm, I might get one, then.

Hm. Seems that Sneasel, Persian, and Swellow are also faster than it. The more you know. Still, it's pretty damn fast.

You do remember that Jumpluff has a NASTY weakness to ice?

My guess is that it´s grass/flying, right?

More pokemon has weaknesses like that but it shouldn´t be a problem if your pokemon is fast and has some kind of stat changing attack.

Doesnt matter much when that ice beam-user is asleep, seeded, and jumpluff is in a subsitute.
X4 weaknesses don't really matter much... most X2 attacks would kill Jumpluff in one hit outside of a subsitute. Hell, neutral attacks would do a fair chunk of damage.

It´s like Gyarados's 4x weakness to lightning but Gyarados is still decent.

Have Earthquake along with Quick Claw on it and you might be able to wipe the electric one.

Hell, look at Exeggutor. Weak to fire. Weak to flying. Weak to ice. Weak to dark. Weak to ghost. Double weak to bug. People still use it, though not as much as Gyarados.

But Exeggutor has good Special defense and even better Special attack.

It can be a pain to take down but Gyarados is easier to defeat.

Gyarados is a pain because nobody brings it out against something with an electric attack. If you switch to an electric type, it uses dragon dance, and its already too late. Earthquake and Hidden Power Flying can sweep fairly easily, especially if they get off more than one DD.

Hmm, I´ve always thought that Hidden Power was weak. What element is it if you have Hidden Power on Gyarados?

Hidden Power is random on every pokemon. It can be anything on any pokemon.
It's based off your Pokemon's IV's... basically, it's Hidden Power is determined when it's caught or when it hatches from an egg. Its power can be anywhere between I think 40 and 70, and its type can be absolutely anything.
Through constant breeding, you can eventually get a decent strength HP of whatever type you want. In Gyarados's case, Hidden Power Flying is often chosen, to get a boost from Gyarados's flying type.

Does anyone besides me use Stantler as a UU physical Sweeper/semi-annoyer?
Earthquake, Hypnosis, Body Slam, Attract
Paralyze with Body Slam, Attract it, (50% of it not even hitting you now), then shred it.
I do the same with my Lanturn.
Attract, Thunder Wave, Surf, Confuse Ray.
Once all the wheels are set in motion, 87% chance of not hitting. I may replace Surf with Ice Beam, but Surf takes out most annoying Steel types.

Hmm, Lanturn is pretty good, right? I have one at Lvl 50 and It has Thunder or Thunderbolt, thunderwave, surf and...I don´t remember the last move.

Does it´s nature matter. Like Modest? And I don´t even have a Stantler. Maybe I´ll try to get one. If it´s good.
