| Because why the hell not? "Advance" means RSEFRLG (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, Leaf Green). In other words, the most recent generation of Pok?mon titles; the ones for Game Boy Advance. A schedule will be defined once enough people have signed up. Battles will be held over NetBattle, obviously. The rules of this tournament are as such: 1. Battles are Advance Mode single battles, with everyone in "Full Advance" as their version. 2. Which server is used doesn't matter. 3. The following clauses are to be in place: a. Sleep Clause b. Freeze Clause c. Apply PP Ups d. Battle Timeout Unrated and Show Enemy HP are optional. If it isn't listed here, it shouldn't be on in your matches. 4. The following pok?mon are banned from the tournament: Mewtwo Lugia Ho-oh Rayquaza Kyogre Groudon Mew Latios Latias Deoxys Deoxys-F Deoxys-L Deoxys-E Wobbuffet Outside of Wobbuffet, these Pokemon are "Uber" pokemon. Their combined stats are very high and they have no limiting traits. Wobbuffet is banned because of his trait, Shadow Tag, which prevents opponents from switching. Thus, if two wobbuffets are sent to battle each other and both have Leftovers, it becomes an unwinnable battle. Banning Wob prevents this from ever happening. 5. You may not have more than one of the following pokemon on your team: Celebi Jirachi Articuno Zapdos Moltres Suicune Raikou Entei Regirock Regice Registeel These pok?mon are "Legendary" pok?mon. Most of them are quite powerful. Celebi and Jirachi have the qualifications to be "Ubers" if you look at their stats, but Celebi has too many key weaknesses and Jirachi does not have a good enough movepool for them to be considered "Ubers." Note that despite their stats, Dragonite, Tyranitar, Metagross, and Salamence aren't on here. They don't fit the "legendary" qualification simply because the game doesn't consider them so; they're found in the wild, except for Metagross, but we know there's more than one of it anyway. Either way, they all have several key weaknesses, and all but Metagross have double weaknesses to very common attack types. 6. Other than that, there's no restrictions. "Skarmbliss" is legal, there are no item bans, "Perishtrapping" is fine, etc. So with that, let's get on to the signups... 01. Kyouji Craw 02. Kirbynite 03. Hiryuu 04. Grey 05. Colleen 06. Keitaro 07. Cpubasic13 08. Luigi-San 09. Clockworkz 10. High Flyin' Ryan 11. Bloodstar 12. Yoronosuku And here are the first round matchups: 1. Hiryuu VS 2. Kyouji Craw VS 3. 4. 5. Kirbynite VS 6. Clockworkz First round begins noon EST on Saturday, August 27th and ends exactly two weeks later noon EST on Saturday, September 10th. The second round begins noon today, September 17th, and ends two weeks later, on noon saturday, October 1st, or when both matches are over. Times are EST, which means that the round began a short while ago, actually. Here are the brackets for round 2: 1. Luigi-San VS Keitaro 2. Kyouji Craw VS Clockworkz Kirbynite and Hiryuu both recieve byes and will not battle this round in order to preserve a full bracket for the semifinals. Additionally, matches in this round and on are best two of three battle format. Time for round three, the semifinals... 1. Hiryuu VS Kyouji Craw 2. Kirbynite VS Keitaro Matches end noon EST on Saturday, October 15th. I will require people to post their teams, including EV spreads, before the tournament begins in order to enforce this. | Sign me up, I'll figure out Netbattle on my own time... Also, I know it's kind of a caper, but do you think the Eevee evolutions should be restricted, too? Jolteon in particular becomes one of the fastest pokemon out there, and Espeon and Umbreon are really strong, as well. |
