| Lilmario, the same thing happens in some of the "Red States" which is frightening. My father and I were nearly assaulted in Kentucky inside of a public aquarium when he was telling me about the papacy and all that jazz (at the time I had zilch understanding) and some guy behind us asked if we were Catholic. My dad responded yes and he went after ME. I was 13 at the time...And not at all a big kid for that age. Racism exists everywhere, no matter where you go. I simply wish that it would go away, but as long as people continue to centre their world around themselves and solely their nation...such instances will occur. Rome wasn't built in a day, I suppose. Nor was racial prejudice. But, I think we are starting our battle. For the time it took for Rome to be built, 200 years is a short time for destruction  |

| My friends are great when it comes to racist jokes, because, well, we tell them svery often. Thing is, our group consists of someone who's Asian, Asian/Spanish, black, Irish/Polish background (That'd be me), and Jewish background (me again, though my great-grandfather converted when he was young). We don't take offense because we find them funny. The best way to deal with any situation is humor, and making light of it is an ideal that we follow. Watch Carlos Mencia's comedy acts, and you'll understand. Now, physical hate crimes are understandably bad. Denying someone a job because they're black or what have you is bad. However, if someone drives by, and screams out the window "NIGGA", shrug it off and move on with our life. If your close friend says it to you, punch him in the shoulder. It'll be understood that you saying it was not meant to be offensive, but you're still an ass for saying it. : |

| I seriously cant stand Racism. Ive always treated people equally, growing up in the City of Chicago I was surrounded by a multitude of races but I never had a problem because I made friends with everyone. Sure some people are jerks, but judging people based solely off their race is just retarded. |

Well I'm part irish(last name norris), part german(mothers maiden name eisenhauer), and eighth generation cherokee(from some where behind my fathers mother) I also had friends that where black(african-american). I did recently hate on someone in anger for him hating on me, sayin' I'm retarded, I called him the "N" word first like they do in gangsta rap and then as the racial slur all out of anger. | My grandfather is a racist. He's always making jokes about black people, though he'd never harm one. My parents are very anti-racism though. The news story in the topic itself is pathetic. | I'm not really racist, but sometime I'll say something about the black majority that I used to have at my school (they were all assholes. But it probably was an isolated case). But even if I hated them (god, yes I did), I wouldn't do what those guys did. Plus, I just lived with it. ... | My parents arent racist... as far as Im concerned. (Well, if hating stupid people counts. Not mentally stupid, just people who do stupid things, act snobby, be suck-ups... ) I have friends from everywhere, and of every background (Asian, Black, hispanic, japanese, etc...), we get along just fine. Its amazing what people miss by shutting out other culture. Sure, some of it may be weird to us, but we all bring something good to the table. Were all different, and yet people cant seem to get it through their thick skulls to their pea-sized brains.  As for the news story, an axe? Geez, wouldnt it be a little hard to carry that around without people noticing? Still... just, disgusting. |
