I thought it would be easy, but it turned out it was harder when it was supposed to be easy. I failed to get my permit. How pathetic. I had to past the test with less than five answers wrong. It had to be between 20-25 to pass. Bullshit. It could of been like 15-25 to pass, but they wanted it harder. I got two more times to pass and I better get it right next time. Did anybody else failed on their first try.

I failed on my first try, but they gave me the permit anyway. I missed nine, and the most you can miss is eight, out of like 46 questions. When it expired and I had to retake it, I missed eight.
You have two more chances, just study harder. You get to take home your test, right? Learn from your mistakes.

Nope... not that Im bragging or anything

Did they give you a booklet to study from? If so, make sure you read over that a few times. All 4 of the questions I missed came directly from the book.

Take online practice tests at home and study the book. This test isnt supposed to be hard, but it isnt easy either

Ever think that the reason they want you to get X number of questions right is so that you know the rules and won't make mistakes on the road?

Try again and just study a little harder.

I have a book to study, it helped a little. Question, where do you take the online practice tests at?

I found this test here: Driving Test

Its issued by the government of Austrialia I think.

You could take it and see how you do.

The test is long, I got to 36 out of 40 when I stopped.

I've only done the level 1 test so far, and I was one question away from failing.

The only written test I've ever needed to take was when I got my learner's permit when I was 15 and a half. I think I missed a question or two. In years following, there's only been a road test and a manueverability test when I went to get my actual license. I won't have to renew my license for about 9 and a half more months, and I do believe there are no tests involved then.

MAN THOSE DRIVERS ED GUYS ARE HOLDIN' ME AN MY BROTHAS DOWN CUZ I DRIVE LIKE AHS WANTS TO.

I haven't taken it yet. Honestly, the way New York is, I have no need for a permit until the end of next year, when I'm fiinally out of high school. You can get your permit at 16, you need to wait 6 months after you qualify to get it, then you need to wait until you're 18 to get your liscence. And the permit? Only to and from school, and to and from work. Other than that, you need a parent in the car with you.

It's too much of a hassle right now. Why pay insurance, gas money, and maintenance for a car when I could just ride my bike to all the local places? I'm fine, thank you.

Cymoro has a point. But it doesn't work like that for me. I live up in the hills of Alaska which is a far piece away from like the local mall. Its crazy! I'm gonna get my license as soon as I can.

Weird, here in KS you can get your permit at 14 (got mine at 15), and your license at 16.

Very thankful it's this way around here too, since I drive myself around pretty often (and only being 17).

I'd guess it's because New York is constantly a busy place.

Idiot: Well duh Xeo! KS is the plains dood!
Me: Die. Takes me maybe 3-4 hours of driving to NOT see cities and buildings. Biatch.
(it's the same thing everytime someone asks me on AIM about KS)

No, we're just a very liberal state. Blades are banned, and I belive you need a permit for BB guns, which are hard to get. So, the idea of having dangerous children murder our innocent children in flying death traps of metal is just too outrageous!

Edit: At least we get a reasonable Age of Consent. 17, baby.

I passed my first try, I missed 7 out of 8 possible to pass. As long as you read the booklet, put a little bit of effort into remembering the info, and just use common sense.. it shouldn't be hard. Good luck next time.

I kinda came close to failing. I needed at least 16/20 on both the road rules and signs parts, and I got 16 exactly on the rules with 19 on the signs. I think I might've been a little bit overconfident on it. You might've been too.

Two more chances and then what, you get a big note saying "LICENSE = VERY NO" or what? Seems silly.

Then you have to wait until you're 18 when you don't need a permit to get your license.

So at 18 you don't have to even prove that you know basic laws and signs before getting the license? Seems real clever <.<

Here, you need 70 or above to pass. I failed once and was beaten a bit as motivation to try harder. I don't want to remember that day.

Nope... and I had 40 questions total.

The first 20 were about the road rules and such. I missed five out of the twenty, giving me the minimum for that portion. The next 20 were signs. That was by far the easiest test to ever take.

Well, I didn't study either. Most of the time it is common sense. But then again... I live in Florida in the place where old people reign... so all I had to answer was like "What do you do when there is construction?" and whatnot.

And I live in "Redneck Country" as people say it. So one of the questions was "What does this sign (slippery when wet) mean?" and the answer was "Drunk Driver Ahead". Since then, I always see a drunk driver right after that sign...

Er.. no matter what your age, you can't take the driving test without first passing the permit test.
