Most people have a ill view and a huge misconception of Satanism. Do some research and you'll find out it's almost the exact opposite of what you may think it is. I suggest reading The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey. It's not so much a bible as it is one man's philosophical views. Also read The Devil's Notebook by the same author. Great stuff.
My personal choice is both atheism/philosophical satanism. I say 'philosophical' because I don't actually believe in the existance of the devil, the boogeyman, Jason Voorhess, etc. The views expressed by Satanism match mine by about 95%. Seriously, do a little research on it. You'll be surprised at how much sense it makes and horrified at the horrific image that the Christian rite has given it. There's no sacrifices, drinking blood, or any of that other silly nonsense. Anybody associated with that are mostly attention seeking/rebelling teens and shock rockers.

Then again, Christianity is basically a construction of the old Jewish beliefs crossed with the Zorastrianism, Gentiles, Egyptian-Germano-Mediterranean Paganism and the limited contact with Buddhism through silk traders.

Satanism is probably one of the most, rightly, mocked things in existence. I've read up on it so much it is not even funny anymore. It doesn't even have the ability to rank as a hodge podge of ideas. It is a "religion" for people who are selfish and greedy, and tend to think of themselves a tad bit too highly.
