Here is a link to Space.com's website and the info on this newest discovery.

Ugh.
Now NASA will want to photograph it using $1 million dollar equipment.

Right, it's not worth using the equipment they already have, it's only a new planet in our solar system. Why would we want a picture?

Well, this is the first time I've heard, old thread or no. Sounds... interesting... or something.

Nah, actually, it doesn't.

NASA bugs me. They are like a new puppy. Sure, it has 'accidents' and maybe bites a few people, uses up your money on Dog Food, and people still end up thinking its adorable.

New puppies bug me. NASA bugs me.
The 10th planet being discovered doesn't bug me...

If the planet being discovered doesn't bother you, then NASA shouldn't either. They found it. And last I checked, discovering a new planet is big news, even if the topic is old.
People like NASA because they make advancements with knowledge on the whole.
If you don't like them because they spend money, then you must hate a lot of people and companies. What's the point.
You earn a >8(.

Actually...

The discovery, announced today by Mike Brown of Caltech, came just hours after another newfound object, one slightly smaller than Pluto, was announced.

"It's definitely bigger than Pluto," said Brown, who is professor of planetary astronomy. The object could be up to twice as large as Pluto, Brown told reporters in a hastily called NASA-run teleconference Friday evening.

The guy who found number 10 doesn't work at NASA, so NASA didn't really find it. But they'll try to take credit.

The USA has enough problems. Why should we venture out into space and complicate things, especially if we do it half-assed with old rocketships and equipment?

I just don't think it is well planned out. If we overhauled the space program and made it better, I'd be somewhat okay with it then.

As for hating other organizations for spending money, most of them have a focus and right to do so.

Its messing with things bigger than us. Were we meant to explore the outermost limits of this whole universe? Have we outlasted the master plan? Can we surivive the next armegeddon? Should we?

You're really contradicting yourself, pick a side. Yes to spending money or no?

You can ask that about anything, it's a waste of time. Were we meant to play sports? Because it seems people always get hurt doing it. Were we meant to invent the airplane? Because they sure do crash a lot. Ect.

Armageddon? Who said anything about that. and.. "the next armageddon" ? If we already had one, please tell me about it.

..I must be grumpy tonight or something. I keep snapping. =(

Contradicting myself?
I'm saying that NASA in its current state shouldn't spend any more money.
If we overhauled the program (yes I'm aware that that would cost money) and made NASA better suited, then HELLS YEAH LETS SPEND MONEY!

"You can ask that about anything, it's a waste of time. Were we meant to play sports? Because it seems people always get hurt doing it. Were we meant to invent the airplane? Because they sure do crash a lot. Ect."

Theres one thing in common about all of your examples, Danielle.
They all take place within Earth's boundaries.

"Armageddon? Who said anything about that. and.. "the next armageddon" ? If we already had one, please tell me about it"

I know we haven't had one yet, but if some greater being decided to wipe out the humans to start over, would we be able to survive it in the case that we should have?

Even if it was claimed to be so, you wouldn't be there in this lifetime.

And they've been going on about 'tenth planet' deals for the longest time...a few decades I believe. I've known of 'Planet X' dealies for a while now...if it is something like that...eh...it's another theory.

wtf? Who are you saying is owned? Because you didn't refute anything I said.
IF NASA IS DOING GOOD THEN I LIKE THEM, IF THEY ARE DOING BAD THEN THEY SUCK LOL. Yeah that's logical.

And what are you saying about earth boundaries? Discovering things, like a new planet for example, is their job. How is that dealing with something bigger than us. It's not like they're trying to fly to it, they aren't dense. What do you think is going to happen, death upon all of the human race because we discovered a planet outside of Pluto? I mean wtf.
