The cops, as in police.

I live on the corner of a busy street, and lately there's constantly been cops out patrolling the nearby roads (I can usually hear them pull out somewhere and their sirens a bit when they pull people over).

It just gets annoying, whenever I have to drive out of my house I worry about the speed limit and driving correctly, then the same thing when I'm coming home.

A few weeks ago I was driving home and one of my co-workers was right next to me. We were driving about the same speed limit then a cop pulled out and pulled him over, luckily I was just turning into my street going home, but it was kind of scary.

I haven't gotten a ticket yet, and I drive correctly and usually go the speed limt.

A few days ago though after driving home from the theaters, there was this big van in front of me that was swaying around. I get really nervous around drivers like this, so what do I do? Speed up and get hella ahead of them. I was going about 60 on a 45 limit street, luckily it was at night and that road is usually barren ...

So yeah, how's driving for you? Cops around your place?

Well, I don't drive much around town, but there's a fair amount of police presence here, it being a college campus in a major city. However, they don't seem to be to concerned with speeding and the like. I've only gotten one speeding ticket, back near home on I-71, going 80 in a 60. At night. In the rain. On an on-ramp. Good thing he only got me at 80.

Yeah, I'm kind of a speed demon on the highway, as of late anyway. Luckily, I've been able to avoid/slow down for cops.

My area is suburbia so no cops...

As for when I drive... I dont' see too many. I do speed on boulvevards if the speed allows--but I only drive up to 55 and no more As for the freeway, I drive 80 during rush hour so I don't think anyone then gets a ticket. As for when I go home on the freeway, nice speed of 65 yeah, it is a little slow and people do get pissed but whatever--i'm saving money--my gas mileage has extended from 227 to almost 300 because of driving 15 mph slower

Yeah, I still really haven't driven much on the highway. It doesn't bother me though, I've done it a few times before, and all it is is just going a lot faster ... pretty much?

My hometown is suburbia, but we have 3x the number of traffic stops of any other suburb.

Also, going the speed limit is fine. Just don't be in the fast lane.

There are a ton of zealots *erm* cops bored to death on a street called, Walzem. They catch people going 22 in a 20 and ticket them to death. Not one day I drive there do I not see someone pulled over. Damn quotas!

147 is my highest speed ever. I was very tired on a country road and freaked out when I ran over a few bumps on the lane.

Nice! I've only pulled 115 or so. Of course, I don't know of any deserted desert roads. I have to use the highway.

I've only gotten up to like, 80.

I should visit Germany sometime, and spend a day at their special highways.

I'm the slow lane and people still give me dirty looks, a few gestures, and/or cut me off

ah, yes germany--the land where speed limit only applies to bandwidth;

They come here to look at the traffic so that no one drives to fast every now and then.

Other than that it

Due to low bugdets, there's quite a lack of cops in my town. Heck, every second week, they (probably just a few) are in this town, the other weeks, they are in our neighbour town.

Tiburons can pick up alot of speed Nick. It's a great car, you should try one!

[Back on Topic]
They pay good money for cops in San Antonio yet those porkers always have some kinda mini-carnival whoring in front of some random store (like Walmart) just to get more money than they need. I hate seeing them ripping off a bunch of little kids to get themselves 5 new DVD players or a lifetime supply of doughnuts. We pay enough in taxes around here so my overall response to this crap is, WTF!?

Considering where I'm at in Peoria, there are drag racers here all the time. They get pwnt at 1 AM by the police sometimes but it's not an always thing.

Where I used to live, once in a while a cop would drive by. We used to MAKE them come. Those were the days.... Now I live on the edge of nowhere, (I don't live anywhere, but a town is close by) and I haven't seen a cop drive by once, unless in town. And I've only seen like 2 there.

Eh, I'd have to drive around like..not around the houses but sometimes there's cops driving around outside of the neighborhood. I've noticed a lot of cops lately just around. On some days there's a cop that just drives through but they aren't around all the time making their sirens go off or something. It was weird this one time when they were chasing this guy down this side street (our house is on the corner) and you saw like 6 cops chasing him . I was like damn..

There are a lot of cops where I live. It also doesn't help that an officer lives a few blocks down from me, so he's always driving through the neighborhood to and from work.
Lots of cops though. They love to hide around the corners of all the hills and such, to catch people speeding down them. They also park on street corners in the shade to catch those that run red lights. But I have yet to get a ticket.

Oh yeah they do that here too ..forgot about that but not for the red light thingys thanks to those Photo Enforced signal lights. When school was in session there'd be like 2 real cops there every day and a few on days with bunches of fights.

You run red lights shame on you danielle, shame on you

not getting nailed by a cop depends on luck--i've done more than my share of stupid things: like making a U-turn in a business district, rolling stop, changing lanes through an intersection, speeding through construction and school zones...
