That's because I fail.

FTP just kicked in for me, so as soon as I can fix the file and rename everything, I'll go ahead and let you know here.

I'm suprised no one told me the download was broken

You uploaded it as .rar, that's why the link didn't work.

Yeah, I realized that shortly after browsing the directory. Wow, I'm a dumbass sometimes...

Anyway:

Get it here... I've reset the download counter to 0 again because of my massive error, so... yeah.

I played it. If these are the actual beta levels, then its an ok hack. If these are original levels, its so-so. I played through the first 3 worlds with no problems.

Nicely done...just played a lot of World 1...

BTW, it's nice to see that the patch is sideways-compatible with the AllStars+World rom...wasn't sure if it would be.

SMAS and SMAS+W should be identical except for some changes to the menu and of course the SMW ROM stuck on the end. It's basically a legit multicart; a menu at the beginning and the ROMs all lined up after it.

I figured, but when I looked at the rom I thought they might've swapped a few banks...

Well I've played World 1 so far, and my reaction is quite lukewarm. There were a number of graphical glitches such as the hills in 1-5, the little ghosts thingies in the World 1 fort, the bombs in the airship, and the disc thrown by the pirhana in 1-6. Plus, the levels still look like the originals, there are no apparent header changes as far as I can see. I don't know if there's any header data known, I don't hack SMB3 for SMAS, but the lack of header changes takes away from a feeling a new levels. I think if you changed the header up a bit in levels, and fixed the glitches, it would be better, because the level design is decent.

Insect, did you use an editor or go into the game with a hex editor. I'm trying to find the offsets for smb3 in smas and if you know where they are, you could be a great help to the hack I'm working on.

Yeah, I just found that one out when I actually have one yesterday. It's because I do not have a disk that contains more than 1.44 MB I have to rip each of its data every x100100 offset. It's too bad that FuSoYa's Rom would not work in SMAS+World ROM. (Unless I'm gonna figure it out in the HEX Editor)

Well, if you want to transfer stuff on floppies, I 7Zip all my roms to backup them and SMAS+W compresses to barely over a megabyte. Heck, you can 7Zip or RAR even Super Metroid to a single floppy (although plain old PKZip won't cut it.)

Sorry my bad English...

This is from my first message board before the ROM hack is released.

If hope that what you actually look for cause these offsets can be used in the HEX Editor or Lincolnsoft's Mario Improvement 3. If you're using the HEX editor you have to count the offset level's combined number of bytes as said in Lincolnsoft's level editor.

Thank you!
Now my progress is soaring. I needed the ice level for smas, but I don't have DOS so I can't use M3I. Which means that I can't edit smas with an editor. Have to go right into hex.

I''ve been waitng to speak to you for a very long time. First of all you should look in the Smasdemo Readme. It clearly says that the ENEMY SPRITE GRAPHICS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT IN THE NES VERSION. WHICH MEANS WHAT HUKKA (Creator of Mario 3 Workshop) SAID ABOUT ENEMY GRAPHICS IS THAT THE ENEMIES ACT LIKE SUPER MARIO WORLD. SECOND OF ALL THE OBJECTS IN MARIO ALL STARS IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN THE NES VERSION SO I DO NOT NEED TO FIX THE HEADER CHANGES.

THESE THINGS ARE NOT GLITCHES PERIOD.

Ok... Look at your keyboard. See the 'A' key? Put your finger on that, but don't press it. Move your finger to the left until you feel another key, press down, and then let go.

Crimson, you insensitive buffoon, pressing the CONTROL key won't solve anything!

And to you Mac users, I highly recommend the Matias keyboard. Very, very pleasant on the fingers.
