I have posted this thread for people that may be looking for new game to try. The Twisted Metal Series is one of my favorite series, and I hope that you'll like it too.
Lets start out with the links to the official homepages.
Twisted Metal
Twisted Metal 2
There is no Twisted Metal 3 Homepage
There is no Twisted Metal 4 Homepage
Twisted Metal Black
Twisted Metal Small Brawl
Twisted Metal Head-On
All of the games, except for Black and Head-On, are for the PSX. TMB is for the PS2, and TMHO is for the PSP. All games are rated T except for TMB which is rated M.

An Overview of the series. "You can remember that night as clear as this one. Six months ago, somewhere between midnight and morning, your computer signaled an incoming e-mail on the United Internet System. When you saw the name of the sender, CALYPSO, your eyes glazed over with visions of your greatest fantasy, your ultimate desire. And then, when you read the message, you knew that this dream was within your grasp. The message, flashing in red, simply said WILL YOU DRIVE?

Once a year the legendary Calypso, a man who dwells beneath the streets of LA, holds the TWISTED METAL competetion. The contest takes place all around the Los Angeles area and calls upon vehicles of every kind to battle to the death. The one driver still alive at the end of the night is granted any request----any prize he asks for. There are no limits on price, size, or according to some, even reality.

Your special invitation from Calypso has given you the chance to do battle in Twisted Metal. This is where all of your skills, all of your luck, and all of your guts are put to the test. This is where life and death decisions occur every instant. This is where the Grim Reaper lurks around every corner waiting to strike. And this is where your ultimate dream can come true. Welcome to the big time...WELCOME TO TWISTED METAL!"
Taken from the TM instruction booklet. In TM2, Calypso complains that LA has been too destroyed for another competation. "I face a dilema. Where will this year's Twisted Metal contest take place? Ahh. The WORLD will be my battle ground."
More to come.

Characters: Mr. Grimm, Minion, Sweet Tooth, Warthog to name a few, go to the websites to see more.

Wondering why TM3 and TM4 don't have homepages? Well, long story short, TM made by SCEA, TM2 made by SCEA, with help from 989 Studios, 989 Studios ruins TM3&4, TMB and on are made by SCEA, SCEA hates TM3&4.

I really like Twisted Metal 2, but not really any of the others. I'm picky.

Well, Twisted Metal 2 is one of the best games, IMO the best in the series. I have not met one person who has played this game and not liked it.

Games like these were good, whatever happened to them?

Anybody remember Vigilante 8 also? I thought the first one was pretty good.

I never played V8, but I'd like to try it someday.
And what do you mean, what ever happened to them? If you mean like what happened about making new ones, TMHO is for the PSP, and that's new.

I don't know, they just seemed to be more popular years ago, and you don't have a lot of new series popping up outside of Twisted Metal these days, it seems (Like V8, it just stopped after the N64 and PSX).

Oh, I see. Ya that seems to be true.
Hey, I found this beta TMSB picture lying around.

1. I think this is the golf course, before it got a jungle theme.
2. How did they get 96 Fires, I'm pretty sure you can't there's a 40 weapon bay limit.

Aww I remember the series! Twisted Metal 2 was one of the best and my favorite one. Awhile back when we first got our PS2 I rented TMB and I didn't like it..I don't know why. They had this part on the game and I was like where she cut her arm I think and that was disturbing in a weird way it was but I liked Twisted Metal 3 too. Vigalante 8 I remember also but I wonder what happened to that game? I don't think we bought it but I remember renting it
