| I sat in my lounge chair for several hours, staring at the bright flames in the fireplace. The heat made sweat bead up on my forehead. The crackling of the fire nearly made me insane. I heard a sudden noise that made me jump. I quickly turned around in my lounge chair to see the door slightly ajar, but no one seemed to be there. I resumed my state of relaxation, looking into the orange embers. I had an eiree feeling that somone was watching me, engulfed in the odd shadows cast by the fire. I slowly craned my neck to the right, and saw two beady eyes looking at me. My heart stopped as I saw the glint of a knife in his hand...
