Mine looks alot like yours, except for the vertical task bar, much more porno, and my cursor is a turd that does backflips.

...Or did you mean ROM hacking?

(Click for full images)

That's not even the fullest I've had it, and I've since switched to 1280x1024, the highest I can. Veritcal taskbars pwn, but I often leave things open for a long time because I forget about them.

Am I the only hacker who still has the start menu at the bottom of the screen? XD

I stopped hacking, so I can't really post a screenshot. But when I did, i'd have a few windows open.

FF Hackster
A hex editor
The emulator
winamp
mIRC
and Opera

That's about it.

... good god that's a lotta windows, frantik. Although UltraEdit must come in handy with its tabbed windows.

Weasel: Nope. So do I. Vertical just takes up too much space.

yeah ultra edit is great.. it has a hex editor built in not shown on that screen is another file i usually have open when i'm adding code with the NES op codes and their hex equivalents for when im writing new code

and yes vertical takes too much space imo.. i prefer two lines on the bottom

Mine looks a lot like DD's, but with about 20 more windows open.

My main computer had an alternate taskbar style with large icons and stuff for awhile, but then the RAID 0 configuration died, and shortly thereafter the motherboard as well. Since then, I have been using my laptop with an external monitor, and pretty much default windows.

My work computer (where I actually do all ROM work) is slightly more sterile, for somewhat obvious reasons.

Man, am I the only one who only looks at one thing at a time? Or are all those windows made small to accentuate how many programs you have running?

Yep, UltraEdit is great, I use it too.
But did you get UltraEdit to use Tablefiles?

Desktop? Where?

(Note that this is purely a mock-up; when I'm actually in the middle of hacking, the windows will be all over the place.)

Because she was looking into how to do that, I'm sure it can be done though, I once had an install that came with two table files, altough those were installs too, but meh.

EDIT:
And here's the screenshot.

Ok!

I've got many windows open when I'm working on my hacks. Like Lunar Compress, Tile Molestor, Hexposure, Winhex, Notepad, Internet Explorer, Trillian, Paint Shop Pro etc...

Desktop? What's that?

*looks on his computer for a moment*

Ph you're talking about the big picture, with the little picture thingys all over it. Sorry, I had completely forgotten about it considering the 50+ windows and 15+ programs I have running at any point of my hacking leisure...

When I still hacked SMW (and no other game else; since I'M too lazy to fumble in a hex editor , I had this opened:
- Two instances of LM
- Tile Layer Pro
- Web browser (Opera first; later Firefox)
- Blocktool
- Windows calculator
- Text files for personal notes
- An emulator minimized, when LM didn't have the "Run ROM in emulator feature"
- Probably ICQ or Trillian sometimes, but usually that distracted me from working

Well, when I am corrupting, I have my corrupter (Erosion) and the folder with the ROM's I am corrupting open. When I am ASM hacking, I have FCEUd, NNNesterJ, Hex Workshop, my NES goodset folder, Winamp, and Notepad open.
