| The difference is that Levels are determined by EXP, which is determined variously by your posts and your time registered. Ranks are determined solely by postcount. The purpose is nonexistent. They are another useless statistic. |

| There is a planned RPG system, with battle and stuff but it's never been implented. One reason is the GD libary, Acmlm would need that if he wanted to continue. But we don't have that.  So for now, yeah.... as Tamarin said. No purpose. |
