I seem to be having a problem with layer 2. I did EXACTLY as the help file told me, but it didn't work. My problem it, I put it so that layer 2 scrolls vertically (like Wendy's castle) as in going up and down. So I insert the generator, but when I go into that level, none of the layer 2 objects are there. Whats wrong?

I would check the BG scrolling options and make sure it is set to constant. Or maybe you can duplicate that room in wendy's castle and copy any work you did into the copied room. That's all I know...

Hmm I copied everything exactly from wndy's room and replaced layer 2 with my own tiles, but still, they don't show up. I don't know what I could be doing wrong, anyone have anyideas?

Have you checked the BG initial position for the level entrance? Lunar Magic means layer 2 when it says BG in BG initial position, so check to make sure that the FG and BG initial positions are the same in the "Change properties in header" window. There is another way layer 2 could be affected, and that's by its actual scrolling itself. Go to "Change other properties" window and make sure that the layer 2 horizontal scrolling setting is set to constant. Also, something that I saw in Videogamerpat's Rob-omb's Quest that's a great big no-no is allowing FG vertical scrolling on horizontal levels with layer 2 autoscroll sprites. Make sure that the FG vertical scrolling is set to none in the "Change properties in header" window. These are some very possible reasons why it would behave like this, and reason two is more likely. Hope this helps! ~Dark Ludwig (edited by dark ludwig on 07-16-05 09:19 PM) (edited by dark ludwig on 07-17-05 01:38 AM) |
