(Sorry if this is old.)

Most of you know google launched their own sattilite and have an online thing where you can search for locations. but now they have a downloadable version!! It's much cooler. Runs smoother. Has 3-D terrain and other fun things. You can ever mark locations.

earth.google.com

we can all look at each others houses if we share the cordinates

EDITness: Here's my house. "49 degrees 13'07.38N, -122 degrees 41'34.10 W"

search that excactly except replace the word degrees with a degree symbol!

If any wants to see a giant corn field maze shaped as a beaver near where i live search up

49 degrees 15'01.56" N 122 degrees 42'30.74" W

There are also some fun things to look up. Try and find the great wall of china or the pyramids.

HINT: Turn on the Keyhole Community BBS layers. You'll find a LOT of neat stuff to check out as a result.

Danielle: It's current up to maybe a year or two ago, depending on the satellite data. Apparently stuff will be updated over time.

Ah, okay. I noticed that it didn't show the area where my school is built, because it's only a few years old.. just wondering. Maybe they'll update that soon.

Yeah. It still shows a motorhome in my yard. We sold it like two summers ago.
Before ya' know it, satellites will be so advanced that we can see inside people's houses in REAL TIME!

Okay well.. last I checked, a house had a roof. That wasn't invisible.
But it would be cool to see someone from the board run outside and wave up or something.
I don't know if that's possible though. That's some advanced technology.

My dad installed it on the other computer for some days ago, I played around with it and it's pretty nifty. Sadly, the area where I live is low-res only. I barely can see the elementary school here.

On the other hands, my mothers parents house is visible. And very sharp too. I didn't know Google maps had Europa, but they have now.

Coordinates will be posted tomorrow, as I get on that other computer.

We're years away from doing that. Basically Google wants to work on getting more areas mapped out in high resolution and all that (plus clean up some images... there's clouds near my house... ) for now, and that's good.

Fixed.

How do you find someone's house using coordinates, can you do a search using them?
If that's how, I'll post mine later, hehe.
