I would imagine that 1Million dollars is the highest bid on anything, and here it is

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26434&item=4561386665&rd=1
its an icebreaker, worth 4 million, but they put it up for 1million, so yeah, it was even on CNN...lol

I remember when someone put up a carrot with an anomoly that made it look like it had a vagina on ebay. The bids were up several million dollars. Even I got a piece of the bid action.

If you're talking about on eBay alone, then I would have to agree, but I can just imagine what sort of prices have been paid for highly wanted or rare items in other auctions

Anyways, I find one million dollars (or four, if you're talking about the "Buy Now" price) to be insanely high. Then again, I really don't know how much any sort of boat would go for normally, so that's not a fair comment to make

I can't see anyone wanting it either, as if you really have a need for that type of boat, I'd find it easier to get it by dicussing things with someone face to face, instead of bidding on it online.

It will be interesting to see if anyone (besides the two that are already there) actually seriously bid on the thing

Rich people will buy anything, as long as its price is in the millions...or it is useless. Often times, both.

Current bid is $1,000,100. Buy It Now for $4,000,000. Can anyone lend me a few million bucks?

Also:

By placing a bid on this vessel, you are entering into a legal and binding contract to purchase the above-described vehicle.

So if you bid, you have to buy it? What does that mean for everyone except the winner?

they also say, if you bid, but arent serious they are going to tell ebay, and give you a negative rating...I wonder if both those bidders are serious, I dont think I could possibly buy a boat like that, or anything that cost that much over the internet.

How exactly do they get the boat to the buyer? Seems kind of big for a box...meh, it probably says somewhere on the site, and I just didn't see it.

This one person bought Doom 3 on ebay for over a million... like the day before it came out. I don't have the link but I am guessing he/she gave it back or whatever because that's just ridiculous.

Virtually every bid like that is a joke bid.

From Wikipedia, here's a list of the five most expensive (and LEGIT) items sold:

1. Grumman Gulfstream II jet ($4.9 million)
2. 1909 Honus Wagner baseball card ($1.65 million)
3. Diamond Lake Resort, western Kentucky ($1.2 million)
4. Shoeless Joe Jackson's "Black Betsy" baseball bat ($577,610)
5. Round of golf with Tiger Woods ($425,000)

the buyer has to arrange to pick the boat up, or hire a crew to drive it to them...I also saw another item on ebay, it was a 1650 BC scarab from egypt/israel apparently proving that jacob from the bible existed or something of that sort, and the people who made it or something, or who had it are mentioned in the bible.

And they let it go that far? Didn't they realize that there are surprisingly few (read: 0) people who have anywhere near that much?
