Kalar: "Always a month, always a month, always a month! That shadow's more trouble than he's worth, if you ask me..."

Grey: "Kal, he's organized the entire tournament from day one, which is a gargantuan task, considering the amount of drops and edits we've had to make to the schedule."

Kalar: "Still... One month! Look what happened when Janus was only given a month in the last round!"

Grey: "That one was my fault, and you know it. Besides, you can get this done faster than he can, especially since I haven't called for any special gimmicks this time around. You've got no super special moves, no crazy plotlines, no psychotic backstory. Out of all of these actors, you're the emptiest, storywise. I'm going to extremes for this."

Kalar: "But I'm chock full of death, destruction, and merriment!"

Grey: "That'd be the point."

It was like talking to a brick wall. Kalar wasn't dumb, Grey knew that better than anyone else, but he was definitely not very attentive and horrifyingly obtuse in his logic. He reminded Grey of himself when he was a child, but that was a different story entirely. The arenas had been returned to their classic mode after so many people had destroyed them in the last round, and after that psychotic assault on the arena by most of Shadow Sam's cast left the place in shambles. Paying little mind to this, Grey simply pushed his own plot along...

"Now, your opponent this time is called Sion."

Grey and Kalar, who had been waiting in the wings outside of the arena, the crowd raging as the battle between the former master of the arena and an up and coming fan favorite was about to begin. Grey snapped his fingers, and a small holograph generator appeared in his hands, spewing out a tactical readout of Sion and his abilities.

"Sion appears to enjoy combining tactics from several popular animes and video games, as can be seen by 1) his combination of elements from Kingdom Hearts and Naruto in his first battle, and 2) his use of Monkey D. Luffy's biological abilities in a subsequent fight. My guess is if you manage to observe these abilities and react accordingly to him, you will have the upper hand."

Kalar nodded. His eyes flashed red for just a splitsecond as he took all of this information in...

"However, obviously some of his abilities, such as Luffy's ability to stretch his limbs, or the powers inherent in a keyblade, will be impossible for you to learn, much less to use against him. Therefore, I suggest engaging him in melee and observing instead his fighting style, as you did with Star. Got it?"

Kalar: "No prob, sir!"

Grey: "Good. Now get out there, and kick his ass."

Grey pushed Kalar out of the wings and into the arena amidst a roaring wave of cheers and jeers. The moment Kalar stumbled onto the hard tile arena floor, it transformed into a simple, flat grassland, with overgrown patches here and there. As Kalar walked, the taller blades of grass scratched through the holes in his suit, tickling his legs as he walked and putting a happy grin on his face.

Kalar: "Whee, man... I'm gonna have so much fun with this."

EDIT: Just a grammar fix.

Slowly a slender figure became ever visible as he approached the battlefield. Sion walked slowly, he has no need to rush. His face was tranquil and yet he did not seem as carefree as he used to.

Looking his oponent right in his eyes Sion held out his arm.

Sion- You ready to do this?

A flash of the eyes, and suddenly the cameras zoomed in on Kalar's face had nothing to look at. The ones zoomed in on Sion, though... Well, the naked eye would see nothing more than a quick red streak whizzing by his body before using some kind of obtuse wipe effect to switch to the cameras behind him, which was where Kalar ended up.

The very holes in Kalar's tattered black suit quivered in the still air around him. His arms were outstretched, holding that wickedly curved scythe forward on the followthrough of what seemed to be a single, solitary slash. A bead of sweat fell from his brow as Kalar's heart pounded incessantly. Difficult? Yes. Dangerous to Sion? No.

Yet, still, as Sion held his hand outward, pointing at where Kalar was, there was absolutely no activity whatsoever, until a slight breeze blew through the arena...

....And every single blade of grass in a three-foot wide corridor between where Kalar was standing and where he stood now fell to the ground, sliced into dozens of pieces. Kalar blinked and stayed perfectly still...

Kalar: "Does that answer your question?"

Sion: Heh...actuallly it does.

Without a moments hesitation Sion flipped backwards giving him a little more room between his oponent. Sion then grappled the air with force....it wasnt just air he was grasping however. In a flash of light two keylike blades appeared in each of his hands.

The left was bright and shown with the light of justice. The right was dark..so dark that no light shown off it...this was the blade of destruction.

Sion spun the two blades around slamming them together. The opposing energies reflected each other. Shooting sparks out into the air. Not a second after the sparks shot out from the blades Sion charged in with extreme speed. Using light to defend and and darkness to offend....a manuever of pure balance.

As Sion began his charge, the arena's speakers began to blast out a roiling techno reprieve, specifically designed to get hearts pumping and senses running wild... This was gonna be good.

Kalar: "Aw, HELL yeah! That's what I'm talking about!"

Flourishing his scythe and swinging the near-transparent blade so that it sliced cleanly through tuft after tuft of grass, Kalar windmilled until Sion approached him, whereupon he swung his scythe high in the air and then downward, shifting ever so slightly forward as he sliced. The scythe blade dug into the ground and the entire world suddenly went into slow motion as Kalar met Sion's charge with a vault and a series of frontflips over his head. Kalar somersaulted in the air, landing lightly behind him as time sped right back up and Kalar spun around with a sharp horizontal slash to Sion's midsection in a maneuver that absolutely screamed FLUID.

Sion quickly crossed the two blades over his chest blocking the attack but sliding backwards due to the force of the impact. Somehow using the force of being pushed backwards Sion lept into the air. With his oponent in sight he yelled...

Sion: Strike Raid!!

Sion launched the dark Keyblade at his oponent with amazing force. The blade sliced through the air as it spun. Causing the immediate area around it to become distorted, almost as if the blade was emmitting intense heat.

Kalar: "Oh, please... Who HASN'T Janus used that move against?"

Kalar backpedaled a few feet to allow him a bit more time and control over when the Keyblade would strike, and then dove to the ground, raising the haft of his scythe upward and catching the spinning Keyblade by its skeleton-key-like head. He rolled along, passing the scythe with the Keyblade ringing around it like a horseshoe from hand to hand until he could get the proper footing to jump to his feet and hold his scythe outward, now moving his scythe in such a way as to slow the spinning of the keyblade down. It slowed to a stop, and hung from the haft of his scythe by the key's head. He raised his scythe upward a bit and slid the blade along the scythe's haft to his hands.

"Ooh, nice model too. Reminds me of.... The Metal Chocobo. But only in color, really. Let's see..."

His eyes glowed red for a few seconds as he studied the weapon. It was supremely lightweight, but very, very strong. Overflowing with dark energy too, apparently. Hurling it at him wouldn't really hurt, since it essentially WAS a key, and its power was only really inherent in the energy of the blade allowing it to cut through things. Since Kalar wasn't too afraid of extremes, and actually invited pain and destruction upon himself and others on a near-daily basis (at least, on stage he did), it was a pretty nice little piece of work to him. Almost artful in its pain and misery. But that was for emo kids.

"You know your stuff if you've got a weapon like this. I feel kinda honored, actually. But..."

Attack copied, he thought as he grabbed the handle of the blade and hurled it right back at Sion. The handle of his scythe shortened to about a foot long, and from the end of it swung up the scythe blade, extending and straightening to broadsword-length. As a followup, he hurled not only Sion's weapon, but his own right at the warrior, in a gross mockery of Sion's original attack.

"You might want it back! Strike Raid!!!"

Sion- *He doesnt understand the blades at all....shame*

Although his blade was hurling back towards him with devastating force Sion remained perfectly still. He understood exactly what the Keyblades were capable of...or in this case what they were not capable of.

The blade did not reach ten feet of striking Sion before vanishing into thin air leaving nothing behind but a mass of eerie purple mist. The assault was not over yet. There was still the matter of the Death Sythe that was going to slice Sion in less than a couple seconds.

Holding his remaining blade tightly with both hands Sion pointed to the sky and yelled.

Sion- Aeroga!!!

A blast of air exploded from Sions body sending the Sythe flying back towards Kalar. Just as fast as it appeared the the barrier of wind around Sions body was gone. The sythe flew the air in long arc just before landing blade first into the grass a few feet in front of Kalar.

Sion- Oh Im sure your wondering where this went...

Sion held out his right hand and his missing Keyblade appeared through the same eerie mist.

Sion-...Keyblades are far more than combat tool. *far far more*

Duel Wielding once more Sion stood patient and strong. Waiting for the next move..

Kalar ran his hands through his hair as his eyes flashed red for an instant on the sight of Aeroga, and an eyebrow was noticeably raised as his scythe-turned-sword lay quivering in the ground before him. He blinked a few times, and remained silent. No need for one-liners here.

Kalar simply took the sword in his hands, and drew it from the ground, transforming it back into the scythe. He had forgotten about that vital piece of Keyblade information. In large part, a keyblade cannot harm its master, since the master pretty much has control over its existence. Sion was making him look like a fool. Damn... But that wasn't all that was in his bag of tricks. He tried something completely different instead, inspired by a memory of events long past...

Schwa suddenly glides toward Garro and stops five feet away... but he moved at 75 MPH, meaning he was going FAST, and he also stopped in a heartbeat. As soon as he stops, he releases one of the strongest techniques ever possible to learn by a Psi Warrior.

"Alpha Gamma YAMATO!!" (echo effects)

It's a combo of three seperate attacks. The first attack, Alpha, is two thin red beams fired at Garro to do light Psychic damage and lower Defense. The second one, Gamma, fires two spiritlike energy blasts outward to home in on Garo, doing no damage if they hit but paralyzing him until the 3rd move hits. Finally, Yamato... This attack is a gigantic blue sphere of energy, 56 feet in diameter, that flies into Garro. If it hits, the foe will take unbelievable damage, but... unlike Omega, Yamato has some side effects... It causes ANY one random status condition upon contact, Schwa's offensive and defensive stats climb several points, and the damage the target receives is also returned to Schwa in charged-energy format. This means if the attack hits, Schwa will have 2 turns worth of charged energy in him!

Schwa stands there and folds his arms, staring at Garro (or probably what's remaining of him), and nods in approval of his latest attack.

"You want to harm my friends? You sure?"

Garro didn't even have time to respond as the blue sphere of light enveloped him. His eyes widened as his concentration was broken to pieces by Schwa's final attack, with the othe two attacks doing nothing more than bringing him closer and closer to complete vulnerability to the move. Knocked off his feet, Garro was sent flying across the black room and slammed into a wall as the blue sphere continued to press down on him...

....And suddenly, it dispersed, along with the white cross that kept Ex stuck in Garro's evil grasp.

Kalar: "No!"

Distracted for a moment from his stare-down with Janus, Kalar whipped around and could do nothing more than watch, wide-eyed (and with a quick, instinctive tinge of red) and full of wonder as his ally was blown into the wall and completely out of commission.

Janus: "Yes!"

God bless Instinct, right? Which meant there was really only one thing he had to do. Kalar held the scythe in one hand, and pressed the three middle fingers of his other hand against his forehead, concentrating hard on what he was about to do. It was gonna take a bit of mental exercise for him to get this kind of shot going, but when he felt focused enough, he pointed his three fingers at Sion, and a thin, red blast of Psi energy streaked toward the boy, designed to pierce physical defenses and go straight for the mind!

Kalar: (echo effect) "Alpha Psibeam!!!"

Noticing Kalars posture Sion immediatly knew what he was in for. He had to break his concentration as soon as possible. Sion flung his two blades into the air, the vanished in a mystical display of colors.

He then pointed both hands toward Kalar. Making a Gun link shape with each hand.

Sion- Fira-Blizzara Combo!

From his left hand he shot a burst of fire and from his right a burst of ice. The attacks were not ment to do damage, but rather break Kalars concentration.

The Fire and Ice circled around each other in a unified beam as they sped towards their target. Sion was not sure if this would work so he respawned his Blades for a second defence.

Crossing the Blades in front of him Sion concentrated on something....

Kalar: "Alph---- Eh wot?"

Right before he was about to release the psychic attack, Kalar was slammed by both bolts of magic, first freezing him in place and then melting him out of the cold and scalding him slightly with hot water burns. As the ice melted, his eyes glowed red again, but nothing else came of it. He was so surprised by Sion's counterattack that he really didn't know what he was gonna do next. There was also the matter of the extremely uncomfortable wet feeling he had all over. Then again...

Water did conduct electricity. And Star did enjoy using lightning attacks. And Kalar did feel a bit energized by the intensity of his concentration that got broken by Sion. And Sion was really leaving himself pretty open at this point. And lightning was faster than rational thought. And that attack really reminded him of something he thought he had seen before.

So, going entirely for broke, Kalar decided to forego the Psi attacks for the time being, and instead grinned merrily, his eyes shining red as he happily hopped up and down. He raised his scythe into the air and a gigantic bolt of lightning came from the sky, flashed around it, ran itself through the wetness of Kalar's suit, and flashed out at Sion from the end of the scythe, which Kalar had pointed at Sion.

*From this moment on the Dark Keyblade will be called Oblivion, whiled the Light Keyblade will be called Oathkeeper*

Sion- Are you kidding me?

With hardly any effort Sion threw the Oblivion into the air. Like a Lightning Rod the Blade attracted the lighting bolt and defused it. Sion snatched the blade as it fell, spinning around, switching to attack position and charging into Kalar with amazing fluidity.

*The Stadium speakers begin to blast "Advice"*

Although his attack failed horribly Kalar noticed something...Sion would use Oblivion as a Projectile but he absolutely never let go of his Oathkeeper.

Kalar: "This is breaking the rules a bit, but..."

Grey (echoing loudly through his head): "DON'T!"

Kalar: "Gah?"

As soon as Grey's voice sliced through his consciousness, the attack that Kalar had begun making goofy, wildly exaggerated hand gestures to perform was disrupted by Sion's charge, which sliced through him and sprayed Sion with a shower of blood, courtesy of Kalar's exposed innards. The man exploded into a whirlwind made of shadows and the screams of thousands of lost souls, and reformed a few feet in front of where he was previously, a fresh tear in his suit and a brand new scar across his side. Ouch!

Kalar: "Wait, what the hell was that? I didn't know I could do that!"

Grey's voice sounded again in his head...

Grey: "Well, you can. I figured since I never really gave you powers, just a personality, that doing stuff like this would be more or less consistent with your mood."

Kalar: "But isn't stuff like that more Garro's forte?"

Grey: "Sure, and he can do stuff like that too, but that doesn't mean you can't just because you're supposed to be evil. Hmph, and to think you're Wisdom..."

Kalar: "Wisdom? What the heck's that supposed to mean?"

Sion, of course, can't hear Grey right now, so Kalar is, to him, talking to nothing but the sky right now. Good opportunity for an attack.

Grey: "Just roll with it and get back to kicking ass."

Kalar: "Eh? Bah, fine..."

He faced Sion, and mimicked Sion's charge with just a few adjustments: For one, his weapon featured a longer reach. For two, he didn't actually charge at Sion, so much as dash toward him in a rampaging tornado-like spin that would cut through an office building if timed correctly. Kalar'd know, he did it once.

Sion- If your done talking to yourself can we...

Before Sion could finished his sentence Kalar rampaged towards him in a tornado like fashion. Sion charged back...however this was not nearly a move of rage. Sion clearly noticed the change in his weapon, speed, and overall tone. Sion dashed quickly with his hands holding his blades behind him, almost as if they were just being dragged along by the intense speed his feet were moving.

The overhead monitor of the battle field split into two halves. One showed Kalars charge while the other showed Sions. Both were moving at intense speeds but at the very moment they approached each other it seemed time slowed down to a crawl.

Sion ducked under the lance like Sythe, using the momentum to swing one blade onto the the base the weapon and locking it. With both weapons neither combatent could make a move. Having another Blade Sion had the advantage here. He wrapped his second blade around the base of the Sythe as well. Sions blades were now both crossed in an X-like fasion and attached to the Sythe keeping Kalar from moving it. Sion then held his blades tightly, jumped and with both feet delivered a rapid series of kicks to Kalars exposed inards. It seemes as though if Kalar didnt find a way out of this onslaught the kicks would go on forever.

As his eyes flashed red for another splitsecond, Kalar could only think of one thing, his weapon locked with Sion's in what could be the deadliest spar in the fight...

Kalar (thinking): 'This is going to hurt. A lot.'

Sion's barrage of kicks hit Kalar square on the solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him and causing him to double over in pain, which conveniently dislodged his scythe from Sion's weapons and gave him some much-needed breathing room to back up. He staggered backward and caught his breath, this time knowing that he had to redouble his efforts to actually hit Sion. It was becoming quite clear to Kalar that Sion could match him easily in speed, and that he would need to cover some more impressive tactics in order to overcome his foe. Those powers that Grey had mentioned... Shadows and stuff? Where the hell did they come from? Just because he was so "evil"?

It was strange... But perhaps it could be controlled. Probably not, since Grey had a cruel tendency to do stuff along those lines. But how? Shadows? It was bright and sunny outside, and there weren't any really large outcroppings that gave copious amounts of shade, which made the fact that he was able to do it before even stranger.

Paying this thought no more mind (Sion was bound to be attacking again soon), Kalar instead turned his attention to the dual-wielding warrior, and decided to give him a taste of his own medicine. He swung his scythe in Sion's direction, releasing three blasts, instead of two; Fire, Ice, and a ball of Lightning, courtesy of Star...

Kalar: "Fira-Blizzara-WhateverthehellStarcallshislightning Combo!!!"

But it didn't stop there. Just as the blasts left his scythe, Kalar placed his hand to his forehead again, and began attempt #2 at a Psibeam...

Sion was already charging in when the combo was launched.

Sion- *Not enough time....*
Aeroga!!!!

The shield of wind quickly encased Sions body but there was not enough time to re-enforce it. The elements broke through the shield of wind and blasted Sion away. Arms crossed Sion traveled through the air at great speeds ultimatly smacking into the base of a tree.

Sion- *cough* Im gonna be feeling that one in the morning....

Looking back at Kalar Sion saw what he was doing. He needed a counterattack and he needed one quick. Bruised but not nearly beaten Sion dislodged himself from the tree

Sion- It may be time for some reinforcements.....but first CURA!!!

A ephemeral flower apeared over Sions head and showerd him with a strange light. Within an instant Sion stood upright and strong, all wounds healed and ready for some more action.

Sion- Bring it on.

Kalar: "Sure thing. Alpha Psibeam!!!"

Kalar pointed his fore and middle finger at Sion after removing it from his forehead, and a brilliant flash of red light arced towards the dual-wielding warrior, much brighter and more intense than the previous attempt could be, as Kalar had been able to slightly refine his concentration. As if that wasn't enough, the attack, as Schwa had so often described to his foes, would deal Psychic damage that would penetrate physical defenses and go straight for the mind!

Not one to be a one-trick pony, Kalar of course had another move up his sleeve to complement his initial strike. This one he had thought of himself: He took his scythe, and held it so that the blade was down by his feet and pointing outward at Sion, with the haft held high in his hands. It looked like he was going to slash upward...

Although a devastating Psy Beam was speeding towards him Sion held his ground. Completly confident in his next tactic...the audience could clearly see a sly grin across his face.

Sion- Looks like its time to bring him out....GOOFY!!!!
Announcer- Goofy?!

Before anyone had time to question the strange remark a massive crimson spirit appeared behind Sion. Quickly taking the form of a dog-like knight. His face was serious, eyes cold...the only thing that fit his name were two huge gapped teeth sticking out from his mouth. Without saying a word the dreamlike warrior pulled out a shield from the same void he appeared. The shield was golden and glowed immsenly. Adorned with only three simple circles in such an order that it resembled the silhouette of a mouse.

The spirit held the shield strongly in front of Sion. As the beam hit the shield it let of a blinding flash. The Psy Beam was divided into several smaller beams which shot out of every edge of the shield. With the light slowly diapating everyone could see Sion standing confident with no harm inflicted upon him...however the massive glowing beast that was standing behind him was even more of a site to see.

Sion- Nice Job Goofy, ready for phase 2?
Goofy- Uh phase 2?....whats that?
Sion- Phase 2! You know!!!!
Goofy- Oh Yeah! lets do it!! Ahyuk.

Sion closed his eyes and ascended several feet above the battlefield. With his arms spread out his heart shown a bright red, and suddenly the massive spirit seemed to be sucked into it. Everyone in a 10 mile radius was blinded for just a second as a massive flash of light errupted from the joining of two powerful hearts.

Sions body fell down suddenly with a crash. As the dust around him slowly vanished Sion raised to his feet...changed. His cloths were now black with red designs. A red aura around his body glowed slighty, that same glow seemed to be apparent in his eyes.

Sion- *I can only keep this form for 10 minutes...gotta make it count* Get ready cause here I come!!!!

Sion wielded his blades and dug his left foot into the ground. In a massive blast of speed Sion sped toward his oponent literally tearing through the earth as he ran...

Kalar: "Drive Fusion, eh? You're still not gonna be fast enough...!"

....but his manifesto was cut short by Sion blazing through him, slicing his body in twain and causing him to divide into a demonic wave of soul energy once again. He reformed himself behind Sion, falling to his knees and gasping for breath. Sweat beaded on his brow as his hair fell forward. How...?

"What... What kind of power..."

His eyes glowed a deep crimson hue, and he stared directly at Sion. The drive fusion had more than doubled his speed. Dammit, Janus was the video game nerd around here, not Kalar! What had Grey said...?

'....his combination of elements from Kingdom Hearts...'

And now Kalar had been given strange shadow powers...

He suspected something, but didn't want to act upon it just yet. There was still more knowledge to be gained, and those shadow dissolutions were becoming less and less instinctive. Time was not on Kalar's side. Unfortunately, it now seemed as though speed wasn't, either.

Suddenly, an idea hit Kalar. An awful idea. A terrible, wonderful, awful idea... He whirled around at Sion, his eyes glowing a satanic red color, and an evil grin on his face.

"Hehehehehahaha! What kind of power, indeed? Give me all you've got!"
