Well, you see as I recall, daddy long legs are in fact not spiders, they are simply spider like.
Three different types of bugs are referred to as daddy long legs. Interestingly, every last one of them comes with its own misconception, on top of the whole naming problem.

The crane fly isn't anything anyone would confuse with a spider. They look like giant mosquitos, and are sometimes called mosquito-eaters. This is annoying, because they don't eat anything (well, some eat nectar), and their reputation makes people stop you from swatting them .

The vibrating spider is an actual spider. There's that myth about it being the most poisonous spider, which isn't true.

The harvestman is a funky spider-like critter, which many people seem to think are true spiders. They can easilly be distinguised from other spiders because they're not as creepy looking.

Just curious if anyone knows of anything that attracts spiders... Like some sort of scent or sound?

I don't get it. And the question remains unanswered.

Trapster would disagree with you on that one, Danielle. She's so testy.

Ooh, that is useful. Sounds like I should be trimming some of that grass growing up against the house. If I only had a weed whacker...
