Do you seriously mean that they will scream, vocally? I never thought that they were capable...

Yeah, they just make this screeching sound that would sort of be the way a small insect would scream. I don't know what causes it, but I've heard it before. When I went camping as a kid, my brother would catch them and throw them in our fire pit, and we'd get a kick out of it.

Thats freaky yet, i still want to try it. I hate spiders. Even though they get rid of fly i'd rather there be more flys around. I don't know what it is about the but, they just make me uneasy. Maybe its a thing that happen during childhood, i don't know. At least none are posionous in britain..yay!

Yes, I'd much rather have flies in my basement than spiders. For that matter, I've never really seen evidence of insects down there. Ants, maybe... But if those get to be a problem, PSHHHHT with the raid, all dead. It doesn't seem to be doing much to the spiders, I guess because they're bigger.

And "daddy-long-legs-spiders" are actually common where I live, but you have to look outside to find them.

They don't seem to like indoor enviroment.

That still sounds better than inside, to me. I'd hate to see one of those guys, say, on my pillow when I woke up one morning.

Oh wait. That happened once .

WAAH! STOMP IT!

Spiders are no problems for me. I pick them up with my bare hands and throw them out.

I rarely kill them.

Yes, but that doesn't make spiders pleasant.

Worst I ever had was one plop right down onto a cookie that I was THIS CLOSE to biting. I didn't eat in that room for weeks after that. (It was a garage, lots of spiders.)

That almost happened to me once about 6 years ago. I was in another country but forgot how to spell it. Anyway, my family which includes my mom, my sister, and me were staying at my grandparent's house. We had our own guest room there. When I was barely waking up one morning, I was facing the wall. I saw a huge spider on the wall that made wake up in surprise. It didn't notice me yet so I just got someone to kill it. Words can't describe how big it was but it was sure hairy. I'll never forget that.

Was it the size of a baseball? A few years ago there was a baseball sized wolf spider in my house. The fricken thing was scary as hell and you don't want to mess with those things. I loathe all spiders as they creep me out even the little tiny ones. I think it has gotten worse over the years seeing as now I have a 'spider sense' to where I look in a direction where one is without even knowing about that until I see the damn thing. *shudders*

*prepares to show off his incredible insect knowledge*

Well, you see as I recall, daddy long legs are in fact not spiders, they are simply spider like. See, the differences between a spider and an insect are basically that first spiders have 8 legs, second that unlike insects which have 3 body segments spiders only have 2, one which is basically a combination of two insect segments. Anyway, unless im making a misidentification, daddy long legs are different in two main ways, first off, they only have one body segment which is part of the reason their legs seem so long in comparison, second, daddy long legs do spin web, but they dont make webs and sit and wait for food to come to them. Instead, they go and hunt for their food, and make webs to hold the caught insect.

And personnaly, i dont mind spiders so much, of course, if a giant spider where to drop on my head, im liable to scream like a little girl, despite the fact im neiter little or a girl.

I suppose you remember that spider pic I posted a while ago.

There are Daddy-Long-Leg-Spiders that exist in Europe that are indeed spiders. There are also varities in Asia and North America. But, they have imitators which are far more common, but are neither spider nor insect, as you said. It's somewhat confusing when you think about it, though
