No... you're... wrong.

No, I'm not.

Al-Qaeda has never, once purchased a helicopter or any other piece of air craft.

Iraq had them...Less than 50. The Taliban had the whole of under a dozen aircraft that were Korean war era.

edit::

Legion...Me? Sympathizing with them? I take a shit-load of offence to that. Apologize.

[23:12] < Switzerland> well, the thing is, the issue here is that most of the sympathy towards al quaeda comes from the fact that they are indeed weaker than us and we're pounding htem
[23:12] < Switzerland> Iraq is not weaker than us, just less skilled
[23:13] < Switzerland> so we're still fighting an inferior foe, and people should be sympathizing with iraq for that reason. You, yourself if I recall correctly sympathize with iraq, but not al-qaeda.
[23:13] < Switzerland> which is the correct path to take: One is not filled with terrorism, and the other is.
[23:13] < Switzerland> simple as that.
[23:13] < Legion> The only people I sympathize with are the innocent bystanders. That's it.
[23:13] < knuck> I think both should blow up
[23:13] < knuck> like boom
[23:13] < Switzerland> Iraq = innocent bystanders. Al-qaeda in iraq = people you want dead
[23:13] < knuck> Brazil would rule
[23:14] < Legion> Not everyone in Iraq was innocent
[23:14] < Legion> They DID fight back you know
[23:14] < Legion> (some)
[23:14] < Switzerland> but the majority of the population was
[23:14] < Switzerland> until we fought them
[23:14] < Switzerland> then they fought back
[23:14] < Legion> They didn't have to
[23:14] < Switzerland> and I'd like to note that yes, it seems as though a revolution is going on in iraq
[23:14] < Legion> orele
[23:14] < Switzerland> the al-qaedans are not to be compared with those who colonized america
[23:15] < Switzerland> but the iraqis that get hurt, the innocent bystanders that suffer because of hte war in iraq are alright to be compared with those who fought the british in the 1770s.

Easy as that.

Are you forgetting what you said, Legion?

Legion, I know you're pissed off. But you're looking at it strictly from a militaristic perspective (which is exactly what the terrorists do). You sound EXACTLY like what an Al-Queda member/leader would say (except for the opposite side, of course). You DO realize that they call US the terrorists, right?

Let's see here...

Who invaded whom in the 90's?
Who has been tying up the middle-east peace process for the past several decades? (Trying to get it jump-started my ASS. Isreal stole land from Palestine, and we NEVER said "Give it back NOW" like we should have).
Who bombed Iraq MULTIPLE times throughout the 90's and 00's?
Who carpet-bombed Afghanistan?
Who invaded Iraq a SECOND time to remove a dictator that should have been taken out a decade earlier?
Who is STILL refusing to GET THE FUCK OUT of Iraq and clearly stated "We have no exit strategy or any plans on leaving in the next year"?

And THEY'RE the terrorists?

No. We imposed a govermnet on the Iraqis. In the Revolutionary War, we imposed it on ourselves.

Madness! We imposed it on ourselves in retaliation against a government that was being imposed on us by another country.

You know, like how we're imposing a government on Iraq.

The Iraqis we fought in the war were actual soldiers.

They're terrorists, we're not. If we happen to kill innocent people, it's collateral damage; an accident.

A little definitive. ;/

Legion's got it. There's a clear-cut difference between Iraqi soldiers and Al-qaeda terrorists that you guys are all missing.
EDIT: Except for windwaker, apparently.

I was actually thinking about that. It's a tough one really. On one hand, they're using terrorist tactics. On the other hand, they still mix in non-terrorist tactics and they were part of a military at one point. Regardless of the fact that that specific military was broken up, they still come from it, they're still soldiers.

So I don't know about that one really, it's hard to say. I wouldn't jump right out and call them terrorists though.
