I know... Augh... the world I had to be borne into is such a travesty. I just hope that some retaliation comes from this. Maybe "w" will send some more american buggers to bomb the crap out of whoever... Not that that would be a good thing, but right now... It wouldn't be the worst thing to happen, either.

Let's instigate this war further!

Let's just say that this Crusade's leader of Islam is no Saladin and we have a Richard the Lion-Hearted.

Right now... I'm half tempted to fall for Bush's brainwashing techniques. All I know is there is nothing I would want more than to see the middle east turned into a big parking lot for a huge McDonald's or some other corporate vice.

That sort of thinking has allowed the Islamic extremists to recruit thousands of young people into the fold. And given that the West has this nasty penchant for sponsoring unpopular and brutal leaders...The Islamic regimes and organizations in favour of this twisted Jihad have no problem brainwashing the young.

Can't forget about the fact that beside that, the middle east has had a long-standing crop with Europe anyway, since Europe, and Great Britain in particular, has had a long history of stomping their jackboots on anything that moves eastbound of their country.

On the other hand, now that Britain's been smacked, I'm starting to wonder if the war really is for oil or not.

Ha, and then there's the propaganda route that the entire thing was planned to MAKE US think that way...

Why would they kill London people? What do they have to do with anything? Why do the Al Qaida want to kill them for? I don't think they did anything wrong I think.

Jeez, the whole world stops for this. Granted, it's a tragic event and innocent lives were lost, but we can't forget how many innocent people get killed in Iraq every day

Six civilians died today in Mosul in attacks by insurgents. Yesterday, twelve civilians died in dual suicide bombings in a town south of Baghdad.

DAMN THOSE BRITS, RITE?

I think not.

It's terrible that they targeted London. They targeted a city that openly protested the war in Iraq, and Londoners marched in their thousands. All this after yesterday. London's greatest honour and it's worst attack within 24 hours.

I've been in Windsor all week, which is why I've been absent a lot. It's about half-way between Reading and Paddington, central London. I've been listening to the radio literally all day at work. It was a miracle that the main-line train services were all running. At mid-day, all trains heading east-bound to London were stopping at Reading, and no trains were leaving Paddington. I had to sit it out and see if they resumed services by the time I finished work. Luckily they did, and I actually got home early.
Police are everywhere. There were twenty around Windsor Castle, and I saw about ten officers on the way home on the train.
The Intercity services that were passing through Slough had literally no-one on them, for rush-hour. It was an eerie absense of the normal organised chaos.

Although the chances are pretty damned low of me being in London and on those lines at the time, the blasts actually happened on lines I ride on whenever I go to London.
The Circle Line and Hammersmith and City Line are both routes that connect Paddington with Kings Cross and St Pancras Stations. They will be packed at that time of the day. The blast on those lines happened outside Edgeware Road Station, which is a busy interchange for lots of tube lines. I go through this station on the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines whenever I come home or go back to university in Sheffield, because it links the mainline stations. The area was an obvious target.

For Londoners though, this was always going to be a matter of when, not if. Everyone who visited any railways station in the country is highly aware of the security measures in place. London in particular is always very vigilant. It's so reassuring to see the emergency services responding so quickly. Thankfully all the drills were not just for show in the post 9/11 atmosphere.
Expect things to return to normal, very quickly. Hopefully this and the Olympics in 2012 will bring the complete rebuilding of the system it so badly needs.

I've been following it on the news today. Terrible.

Don't forget, terrorists strike when the right opportunity presents itself. When a country's bracing itself for a possible attack, nothing usually happens. It's when a country's guard is down that they strike. For example, now *was*, admittedly, a good time... after all, the country was on such a high following the Olympic celebration yesterday. Nobody could have expected this.

On the flip side however, there's absolutely no excuse for this. There's never an excuse for terrorism, period. The death toll could have been far more in retrospect, but it's still a shocking piece of news to wake up to. Nobody should have to go through this.

I will say that the subways here today were running normally, as they should be... although I did see a lot of worried faces and not as many smiles as usual. Shows you how far-reaching the effects of a tragedy like this can be.

Who knows though, maybe he's right. Maybe we all have it coming in the long run. But served from the mouth of a man with an opinion that skives off work everyday, I find it very difficult to take seriously. Props to you guys though for managing it.

I'm sorry if I offended any of you, just to let you all know, I think this whole attack is 100% wrong, and I guess I was just talking 'Olde Irish crap'

I'll edit that out. I'm sorry again. No offence to anyone. Do you think the attack will affect the outcome of the G8 summit meeting?

Edit: Oh, and, by 'They had it coming' I didn't mean they deserved it, if that's what you think. I just thought they should be prepared for the day the attack comes, and they were. The bus was blown up right outside a medical facility, that was lucky, and the board of Medical people (I don't know it's REAL name ) were having a meeting when the attacks happened, so they were ready for it.
