OK, so, we were planning to leave to Chicago O'Hare so I could go to California around 5:00 AM CT, but I was running a little late. My dad went out to get the car started, and I was gonna meet him down there. He was there and got to see his parked car get wiped out

The frames completely... not there anymore... and the thing is completely... fucked up, to say the least. The bastard who hit it probably was asleep at the wheel, and well, he hurt some people.

You see, there was a car in front of him, and he hit it and now the people in it are in the hospital... then the three parked cars on the side, the middle one being ours, all got wiped out...

Oh the joys of living in Chicago.

Thats horrible! I hope those people are okay. Did the guy stay, or flee the scene like an asshole?

The latter, unfortunately.

Also, I have to get a new flight to Cali

EDIT: I don't think it'd be too hard to find the guy though, considering the front end of his car is probably fucked up.

You're right. He shouldn't be too tough to find. Plus, you can take a bit of solace in the fact that once they find this guy, he'll lose his license, at least.

Actually, they just found out it was a 17-year old chick...

But also, about the driveways... in Chicago, there are few... only rich people get driveways here

Most of America has them, but big cities seem to have fewer of them, comparitively speaking to the rest of the town... We have to park on the side of the street here.

Hmm... I'm sorry to hear it. Well, your insurance should cover things, right?

I'm just glad you guys weren't hurt. And I hope the guys that were hurt are okay as well.

I'm sure the driver herself got a fair fright too. At 17 you don't have much driving experience under your belt; so it probably scared the shit out of her as well. It's not an excuse for not stopping at the scene of the accident though.... but it might explain why she did anyways.

Anyways, I'm glad to hear you guys are okay, and hopefully everything should be sorted out soon.

Yeah, if the car is damaged so much you have to get a new one ... and if several more cars and people were involved in it too, ouch

Like what happened to one of my uncles a few years ago ... we were coming back from a long trip (500-600 miles) on 01-03-00, I think it was really snowy outside ... after a while (still far from our homes), he hit a car that was coming out of a parking ... no one was hurt badly, but both cars' front got messed up, so my uncle was stuck there 500 miles from home with a broken car he had to replace

Geez, not is only that irresponsible. It's illegal too...

Hadn't been in a car accident, but have seen the effects of some. Some car accidents are just accident and some are caused drivers that drive irresponsible by driving irresponsible or after taken some drinks...

She broke cars and people and she runs?

That can get you jail time. She better have insurance too. Otherwise, sue her.

I've had my car wrecked before. I know, it sucks. Some idiot isn't thinking and driving at the same time, then WHAM! He's all over your hood with over $700 worth of damage.

geez! I feel sympathy for all of those who have experienced their cars getting whiped out. We will have to get a new car...

However, as a consolation, they caught the chick, she was drunk... (at 5 am ) and I got a rental car for free for now, our insurance will cover us if she's insured... if not, then we pay a small fee and they pay for the rest of the damages, and now, I get to catch a later flight today! As a matter of fact, it's in 2.5 hours. I suppose I better get running to the airport. Adios, peoples of Acmlm. I will be here maybe every once in a while this week, but don't count on it. I will do all my posting the week after...

Don't think that's what he meant Colleen.

Could've been the opposite...you could've been like my uncle was about half a week ago and been the one to cause an accident. His Jaguar was creamed from the front passenger side in...lucky he didn't get hurt himself. Guy drives wild, anywhere I'd go 35 or 40 he'll fly 55 or 60...

You're lucky you're not in my situation...

If my car gets in a collision, it's almost guaranteed to be totalled, AND they'll only give me $1000 for it, because it's 32+ years old, and parts for it are REALLY expensive...

For example, if it got the front end bashed in, bumper >$1000 + radator >$1000 + headlight assembly >$500 + grille assembly >$2000... you get the idea!

The only way I could get complete insurance with ANY company would be to get a classic or antique plate, but then I can't drive at night :/

If my car does ever get in an accident, I will request (or sue for) enough money to buy another just like it.
