They went through with the fireworks tonight at the river despite the absolutely dreadful (read: hot, humid and rainy) conditions outside. :\ I'm surprised actually... I'm sure they cancelled them one year.

Oh well. *shrugs* I'm doing stuff tomorrow, not tonight.

Funny thing... my friend knows someone who's getting a four-day weekend at his work because he can claim dual citizenship - taking Friday off for Canada Day/Monday for Independence Day.

You really ARE hopeless.

Congratulations to Canada, though. I hope the celebrations were fun. And I love fireworks.

Actually, Canada's just doing their job unlike other countries when it comes to smut. MOST things censored in Canada are totally objectionable although they do make one or two mistakes at times.

Celebrations are more today than yesterday - Live 8.

Didn't check Wikipedia, hm Kitten Yiffer?

You'd be right though. It's when Canada itself came into existence when the British North America Act was signed.

Yes it is, I just said "Quebec's Day" because I don't know how many people here knows that "St-Jean Baptiste = Quebec's Day".

Yep, that's about it.

But seriously, here on Canada Day, it's also when people are moving to a new apartment, not celebrating.
