I remember having seen the same thing - but that was aeons ago (actually, no. About 8 years only) - just with oranges. Yeah, that's right. Oranges.. Little pieces of fruit which were running around your desktop, doing stuff like reading, dancing, jumping, whatever, eventually falling to the ground and growing into an orange tree, which spawned a new orange, etc.
It was cute, but it ate up all the performance of my 90 MHz laptop.
