| (ooc: Yup, another one of my open challenges. I sure like to use Sanigen a lot.) *Sanigen looks around dazed, trying to figure out where he was.* Where am I? *He thinks to himself, wondering where he has been taken to, who or what took him here and why he is here. He looks at the floor, especially the areas where dark matter seems to be pouring out of cracks. He focuses on something that appears in the corner of his eye. He sneakily watches the thing slowly making it's way towards him* I hope this won't be another battle *Sanigen draws his sword, ready for whatever may confront him* |

| Evren: Who is it who stands with the Essence? I am Evren ni Vishna ra Tyriin, and I seek the power contained here! Step aside, for the Eight walk alongside me! Evren tosses back his hood, revealing his flaming red eyes set against a decievingly calm expression. He pulls a black rod out of one of his pockets, and it transforms into an intricate longsword, with runes inscribed along its length and a small ruby set into the hilt. He points the blade at Sanigen, its metallic surface reflecting the red of his eyes. Evren: Well, Guardian? Choose your own fate, lest I choose your end! |

| Evren raises his sword to block the thrust, but his sword goes too far, and Evren is struck in the side. He quickly jumps away, then pulls out three throwing knives with his left hand. Muttering a quick prayer, he hurls them all at Sanigen. "We must all find our own paths. The paths of those who fight are entwined forever..." Evren's sword suddenly becomes a large, circular steel shield, with twelve engraved patterns of dancing cats facing Sanigen. As Evren speaks this phrase, the first begins to glow blue... | *Sanigen deflects the first two knives, but the third one scraps across the top of his right arm, which starts to secrete a gloopy clear liquid. Not caring about the wound or the pain, Sanigen draws a Kairu Pyro (Fire) symbol and fires a medium power beam of fire at Evren. On impact with anything, it will explode in a slightly more powerful 5 foot sphere* | |||

| Evren quickly throws his shield at the beam, but too late. He is caught in the edge of the blast and thrown backwards.This isn't working, he thought to himself, concentrated, and Changed. A small kitten meowed at Sanigen before dashing off to one of the essence vents... Evren: Kin sei ni'virna arra! A strong wind suddenly picked up in the barren wasteland. The dark essence erupting from the cracks is blown so that it travels horizontally at two feet in height. A cloud quickly forms of fast-moving essence. Touching Dark Essence is NOT good for your health... it will do lots of damage and poison those who come in contact with it. (ooc: Three turns until the wind dies down. The shield was blown to pieces, but will reform itself in three turns.) |

| *Sanigen very quickly draws a small symbol which covers him in a white light. Himaura Element keeps him protected from the dark essence travelling towards him, but now he is highly vulnerable to normal and magic attacks. He begins to try a trick his sister had tought him, and begins spinning his sword around in circles wildly. After a short while, a gust of wind blasts out from the center of the sword, with almost twice the force as the wind already coming at him. He attempts to blow the dark essence back at Evren* | |||

| Evren sees the dark essence coming towards him, with the cloud of darkness still above him. He tries to run away, but the cyclone is very fast. At last, he turns and glares at the incoming haze, focusing his power on his amethyst. As the energy nears him, it is slowly absorbed by the crystal, harming Evren in the process. His gemstone begins pulsing black, and suddenly glows white. As he stands bleeding, all of the magic nearby is sucked into the jewel, which returns to its normal color. The wind has died down, and the essence vents seem empty, then close... An exhausted Evren slumps to the ground in agony. As he does so, a pearly white sphere forms around him, protecting him. The sky suddenly clears from the polluted source, and turns from a stormy black to a cloudless blue. Evren has successfully removed the curse from this corrupted landscape. |

| Evren slowly stands up, his wounds closing. Evren: I have done... what I came for... I claim this land... for the light... The sphere of light around him disintegrates. He suddenly Changes, and draws an ordinary, nonmagical short sword and buckler, holding them defensively. Evren: I don't want to fight you. But you have been corrupted by the same essence that pollutes our world. Please, allow me to cure you of this madness. |

| *Sanigen was still to interested in the change of the landscape and didn't hear what Evren said. He looked down back at Evren and saw him holding the sword and buckler. As Sanigen is quite a defencive person, he takes this as a challenge. Sanigen holds his sword up and draws a Kairu Pyro symbol with his free hand, and fires it at Evren* | |||

| Evren sees the incoming fire, but in his weakened state cannot dodge well enough. He puts his steel buckler in the way, and drops it as it heats up to an unbearable level. He calls his reformed psychoactive rod to him with a thought, and transforms it into a thin disc, which he jumps on. It quickly rises, and he stays high above Sanigen as he tries to understand the unusual symbol magic being used against him... (ooc: If symbol magic is used against him while he watches, he may (small chance) be able to remember the technique and write it in his spellbook for later... the chance goes up every time he sees a similar spell.) |

| As Sanigen jumps upwards, Evren backflips off of his disc. As Sanigen's blade slices through the black material, Evren shoots an explosive fireball from above. The kickback tosses him even higher into the air, giving him time to call half of his platform and land upon it. Taking a moment to reflect, he notices the blood on Sanigen's face... Startled, he tumbles off of his half-disc and only barely grabs the edge, dangling almost forty feet off the ground... He then starts to project his thoughts into his opponent's mind... I see in you no essence, no evil but the one you took upon yourself... Evren is just taking a wild guess here, but given the strange madness and the clear blood, it's the only thing he can think of. |

| *Sanigen falls quite quickly to the ground, front flipping at least 6 times. On his way down he holds his sword out in such a way that he deflects the incoming fireball straight back at Evren. He wipes the liquid off his face with his clothes, yet it still continues to bleed quite badly. He suddenly feels his body start to be taken away from him, as if being possessed. He had known this feeling before, and it is caused by the loss of his blood. His darker form was slowly but surely taking over, and there was nothing Sanigen could do to stop it, as healing the wound would take too long to stop his entire blood being drained. He continues the battle though, and draws a couple of Kairu Ice symbols, firing them both at Evren. He waits for the beams to get close enough then uses his own will to explode them, causing a 5 foot sphere of -150 degrees C to explode around Evren. Four posts until Sanigen's blood is drained* |

| Evren regains control of his fireball before it impacts him, and he detonates it between the two incoming ice attacks. Both are cancelled out by the explosion, but Evren falls from his disc. Why do you allow yourself to be the pawn of your evil? Evren Changes as he drops, becoming a cat to land on his feet. He quickly runs up to Sanigen, and casts a quick spell to slow the bleeding. He honestly wishes to help his foe, but he knows there is no way he can understand. My people have a word for those who are outcast and succumb to their inner darkness. They are called Faelin. I see in you the true mark of the outcast, for you have accepted your own fate without desire to change it. I can only hope that you will awaken one day. |

| "But you won't... understand..." *Sanigen's voice seems very pained now* "I must contain this power... If let loose-" *He stops, and begins to tense up his entire body in order to help contain the force. I must keep you in... You will not break free.... His thoughts seems to stick in his mind repeating over and over again. After about 20 seconds, Sanigen loosens up and shakes his head. He begins to spin around in an extremely fast manor, causing a small tornado to form around him. He attempts to pull Evren towards him and attack him with the rapidly spinning sword.* |

| Evren yelps, and he tries to run, but the pull is too strong, and he is too recently weakened. He is blown into the path of the sword, and is cut badly across the shoulder. The impact throws him away, and he lies stunned on the ground for a moment. Then he tells his opponent: There is nothing I can do to help you now. I am not yet strong enough to protect people from themselves... I need more training. Thank you for showing me this. He attempts to stand, but slumps again to the ground. His last thoughts before slipping into unconsciousness are... I hope... you can find... your light... |

| *Sanigen stops and feels very woosy. He drops to the floor and shakes his head around until he no longer feels dizzy. He looks over to Evren and remembers what he said. "There is nothing I can do to help you now". How could he have been so stupid? Someone was trying to help him an he goes and knocks them out. Sanigen repeatedly punches the floor in anger, causing a huge dent to form in the floor. He looks at the dent, and remembers what he had done in past battles. He is suprised that he hasn't already obliterated something already.* Sanigen: I did that destruction? How and why did all this happen in my life...? *To his suprise, a new set of thoughts entered his mind, but thoughts he didn't think of himself* ???: Because of me, young one Sanigen: No... It can't be... you died just before I ran away ???: Oh by far I did that. I cast a very special spell on you... Remember Kajaei Ultimaei? Sanigen: The first spell you tried to teach me... That didn't work until your death... ???: Yes... The spell which placed part of me inside of you, but in the long temr killed me as a result. You drained my energy until I was nothing... Oh well, it doesn't matter, as in a few minutes I will be let free Sanigen: Please... Abhorsen, no! Abhorsen: Nothing will stop me after I am free! NOTHING! *That last thought ran through Sanigen's mind like the plague. Why has it taken him so long to realise that his adoptive father was the evil within him? Sanigen looks back down at Evren and hopes he is either able to be fully alive so he would have a chance against Abhorsen, or fully dead so he wouldn't feel any pain* (ooc: You've given me some ideas for Sanigen's background. Thanks!) |

| (ooc: Lucky for you, Faerna recover very quickly while unconscious... It should take about three minutes for Evren to wake up.) Evren slowly opens his eyes, seeing Sanigen still there. Even this is more than he expected: Sanigen has refrained from killing him while he was in his weakened state. He instinctively scans his surroundings for the evil he has sworn to defeat, and gasps as he sees Sanigen's darkness struggling against something to get out. Looking closer, Evren can see a small pinpoint of light, in amongst the evil. Even further, he can see... None of this darkness is in Sanigen's own soul, that it came from elsewhere... Then he realizes what all of this means. The Sanigen he was fighting was... controlled... by this other, dark soul. A dark soul that is almost gone from him... and he is fighting it. Trying to contain his darkness, to protect the rest of the world. But the evil feeds off of his strength, and his own light couldn't hold much longer. Evren even has doubts as to whether Sanigen's light can sustain his body once the darkness leaves... This is seriously Not Good. |
