I have a question about this button combo. I was angry at my computer one day and just pressing buttons. I pressed this combo, and my computer shut down. Well, it kinda shut down. The screen turned black, I lost all connections to the interent and stuff (according to the modem thing beside my computer), and the tower shut down. But as soon as I let go of the buttons, everything comes back to how it was before.

So I was wondering why this happens? Is it just because lots of buttons are being pressed? I am running a windows 98 computer. I haven't been able to do it on Windows XP tho.

What other button combos are there that give you weird results? (not ctrl + alt + delete).

EDIT:

I just found out that Enter + Space scrolls you down the page a tiny bit. And then Shift + Space scrolls you up a tiny bit.

Actually, it's just shift+space/space, enter isn't used It scrolls you down as much as pagedown does for us lazy types I guess

By the way, try... Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S in Win XP

Neither of those did anything for me, except Space/Shift+Space. There's a registry hack that lets you cause a BSOD with a certain key combo though.

Alt+F4 is fun too.
Spoiler:
It closes the current window.

Sticky keys has been thought up to help users who can't grab multiple keys at a time for whatever reason (i.e. physically disabled/currently drinking coffee/whatever)

Try Ctrl-Space in fullscreen DOS box mode. You sure won'twill like it.

Keikonium, that has to be unique to your comp.

If I press [CTRL] + [ALT] + [SHIFT] + [ENTER] + [BACKSPACE], it just beeps, as if I pressed more than 3 keys simultanously.

I'm using Windows 98 Se

*does* OMFG, it typed a space.

Opening DOS and pressing Alt+Enter on someone else's computer = fun. See if they can figure it out.

Many don't. And just Pressing [F1] on someone else's computer while they are working...

Or Opening DOS and creat a Batch-File (s.bat dir /s s) and then press [Alt] + [Enter] = Lot of fun.

Thats the function symbol, I beleive. There's a whole shitload of alt+ symbols. You can see them all in the character map program.

I like using windowskey+D to minimize everything at once. I don't know about any other windows+ functions other than windows+r, which is run. Simple way to get to cmd.

Win+D hides the windows. Win+M minimizes them. WIn+E opens Explorer (but in that crappy file tree mode). I think Win+H opens Accessibility Options on XP.

I prefer this crappy tree-mode over others, better overview.

Well, I've disabled all OS-specific key combos so programs can use them on my computer... (Includes Ctrl-Alt-Del, Ctrl-Alt-Bkspc, Ctrl-Alt-F1, etc). I have a few set for my window manager though... like the crappy "context menu" key makes an expose thing happen.

Know what bugs me? There's key combos for closing the window and minimizing all windows, but not for minimizing, maximizing or restoring the current window.

Double-arrows aren't a very useful alternative in my opinion.

There are really only 3 good ways to quote people in my opinion:

Different languages use different types of quotes. I think French uses the double arrows. Japanese uses like the top-left and bottom-right corners of a box.
