...Besides RPG Maker. I really really hate working with sprite sheets. :/ | |||

Hmm... I'm not sure if there are makers that don't use sprite sheets. I know of some alternatives to RPG Maker though (Although you will have to search for these on google as I don't kow much about them): Fury2 Sphere |

GameMaker. Although it's pretty hard to use at first. it has it's own coding language and stuff. Its free, but you can buy the registered version that has more features. I reccomend buying it. (edited by SSJichigo on 06-26-05 06:40 PM) |

What, exactly, would you use instead of a sprite sheet? Game Maker uses something like an animated .gif, which really is the same thing but you only see one frame at a time. If that's all you need then just copy/paste the part you're working on into a different window. If you're not going to deal with drawing multiple frames, then you kinda just get one. Which doesn't look good, I'll tell you. Well, unless you use some vector format, which are woefully underused and rather technical (though awesome in my opinion). 3D systems are almost all vector too. But I don't know any game makers that use either of those approaches. |

Yeah, man. The best alternative to sprite sheets I can think of is Game Maker. It has great support for importing graphics. =P Snika |
