I'm not sure if the US uses the same system but they do censor. In Canada, swearing is censored until 7PM and nudity until 11. Of course, this doesn't apply to things like movies.


I think it depends on which stations you watch. ABC, for example, has rules for which words can be said during certain hours because that way, more kids will be allowed to watch. There are tv ratings for this, and shows that don't allow swearing have a PG rating that parents let their kids watch. It can all be pre-programmed nowadays.


Unless you were like me and set the V-Chip PIN yourself before your parents could block things, like I did.

Something must have happened a few years ago with one of the satellites up there in space. For some reason, TSN (sports) got replaced for about an hour by what I presume was a cable access channel from Alabama or Georgia or one of those states.

And MY GOODNESS that hour was full of rednecks. One show was about what gun to purchase for hunting/protection/etc. and the other show had some VERY not-so-PC talk about certain ethnic groups (surprisingly not blacks, but Russians/Chinese/etc.).

One of the best hours of comedy I've ever seen in my life.

I could have sworn v-chips died out like 7 years ago. Really, it's not TV's fault kids are imitating it. Teach them better!

And yes. Ren and Stimpy == teh weird. It's because of shows like that that I don't like TV anymore. GROSS IS NOT FUNNY.

WTC. I thought it was a joke at first. More disturbing was afterwards, when my classmates blamed Palestine, and the Jews.

I remember when I used to actually..like Ren and Stimpy. I can't believe I found it somewhat funny once. I watched it again like..maybe an episode and I couldn't believe I watched it at one point in my life. It is weird..

I remember when I was first hearing about the WTC, before I saw any of it on TV, a person told me it the WTC fell on to the pentagon. After researching a little bit, I now deduce that was a stupid person.

Ok im sitten here one night and after it gets late cabel tv stops and puts on some payed advertisement...Ok so im sitten here and the adds role on in and one of them was for "SEX" dolls that u can customize every thing on them piercings, hair color, eye color, (*cough* even the pubes *cough*). I was like OOOOOOO K! lol it was sorta creepy...seeing nude dolls on tv.
