Well, i have chose a name for my hack, it will be called Wario Land: Toad's Quest, and it is called that because wario is the bad guy in this one, and it takes place in wario land IE the place that wario has a castle and rules over.

Anyhow, here is some eye candy for you guys to looks at.

This one of the many underground areas in this hack, and not all of them use the same graphics.

Geee, wonder how ill get through there?

Get out of the way befor i toss your buddy at ya.

Another tricky obsticle, but it is posible to get through it.

This is a tropicle level, i riped these graphics from a once popular NES game, and then i added a little detail.
Can anyone guess what game it is?

Whatch out for the coconuts, they hurt.

Boy, dose this guy look evil.

The way i made the levels are a little odd, but they are fun.

This the only screenshot i took of this area, every background graphic was drawn by me, cept the odd shaped clouds, they came from mario bros 2, as did alot of graphics in my hack.

Here we have a screen shot of a jungle area, the odd looking ball is a replacement of the note block, i think the graphics were inspired from something from yoshi's island.

Vine jumping, and avoiding getting hit.

Boy that bobomb looks like he may be pretty angry.
On a side note, i was inspired by the old mario brothers cartoons when i made the graphics in this hack, same with the way i designed some of the levels, that is to say when you look at the way i made the level i was reminded of how odd every thing was in those cartoons.

Geeeeeeee, i wonder what mario game he is from? LOL

Now i know how odd this looks, but when you play my hack you will get it.

The shy guys look a bit sinister, don't they?

And last but not least, the title screen.
Oh, and if you are wonderin what the cherrys do, they are a replacement for the berrys that yoshi eats.

Now i know that mario allstars graphics are way over used, but not every level in my hack will use the graphics that you see, infact i plan to rip and recreate more graphics from old 8bit games, so stay tuned as i take you deeper into what is TOAD'S QUEST.

-EDIT-
Ok, here are some new screens.

As you can see, i have tinted the water part blue.
Oh and please do not tell me that, ohhh that looks unnatural, mario games are not natural, fo the love of michael o'maly, mario is ina freakish land of mushrooms and dinosaurs for crying out loud.

Ok, i changed the cave to something more cave like, and i added the bones as were sudgested.

I thought that more then one screen would be needed for everyone to get a good idea of how much different it looks.

Oh, and ill have a demo in a sec.

-edit-
Ok, here is a demo.

It's Adventure Island 2, I should know (I have the game)

The whole underground area doesn't look that good. The pipes don't fit in at all and the overall color scheme could really use some work. It's too contrasting (the ground) and not good with the background.

The underwater area could use some serious reworking -- try making the background tinted blue, or at least changing the colors somewhat.

The title screen could use some work too (don't use alternating colors for minor text or borders- pick one and stick with it!) and could use some serious spicing up.

Also, I believe that your hack would gain 3 points in my book if you turned on "Dark BG Mode" It's one of the level options and it'd help a lot, since a lot of stuff (notably the vines in parts of the jungle BG) don't stick out very much when in certain areas.

I love it! The GFX are great!
I have some suggestions, though:

I agree with X-Fairy, the underground level needs more editing.
You can add more types of rocks and some plants in the BG,
The FG needs more "bush tiles" too. I liked the fossils you used for the overground level.
It should be used in the UnderGround levels.
Maybe you can make the pipes logs?

The status bar's "TOAD" would be better if it was decorated.

The title of the title screen should be lowered a little more...

I like the forest BG!
I won't say to change it, but some should be added in the dark green part.

Good parts:
The sprites look evil! I like that!
It makes the world a whole new place.

Toad looks awesome.

Oh yeah, is there a demo?
I would love to play it if there is one.

I love this hack, Keep it up!

The shading on the underground levels look wonky... you only have highlights on the sides, not the top. That's very unnatural. I'd suggest sticking to either one side ad illuminating the top or bottom of your ground.

Other than that, it really does look amazing! I can't wait to try and play it!

The hack seems to be comming on well. Underground levels seem to need more editing though, but overall, the hack looks very interesting. Nice work.

The underground backdrop will not be change.

I actualy riped it from something, and the game i riped it from had it looking exactly like that whitch is why i will not change it.
I will however change up the foreground, and add some stuff, and change the color a bit.

I will change the background for the water to a tinted blue.

And what exactly is dark background mode?
If it has to do with ASM hacking, forget it.

As for the toad word on the status bar, ill try to do something about it.

I do not plan to add color to anything on the status bar, i say this becaue it is easyer to keep it the same on any level when their is not alot of color to begin with.

The title will just have white for the minor words, this way no one will complaine, ill also lower the title on the tile screen.

You have to understand, i have done so much work already that it is a pain to have to go back and edit the minor little things.

Ill never get anywhere if too many people start to complaine about the small stuff.

I guess what i am saying is to anyone else who has comments about this hack, try not to nitpick.

Ill never get done if i try to satisfy everyone, just keep that in mind.

I also want to make sure i do not offind anyone, so please do not get up set at anything i have said thus far.

I want to let my imagination run with this hack.

Any other sudgestions are welcome.

Looks awesome!

In the 5th screenshot, was the once popular NES game, Plok?

If you have a demo, I'd love to play it.

EDIT: Actually, Plok was from SNES. :/

It dose kind of look like plok, but no, it was adventure island 2.

And i do beleave plok was on the SNES, i say this because i have the rom for the snes called plok.

Ok, now for an update, i think i have the cave graphics looking better.

I tinted the background blue in the water part, and am curently working on the title screen and then ill fix the toads name at the top on the status bar, after i have a bit more done, ill post more screen shots.

-EDIT-
Ill be back tomariow with more to show, for now im going to hit the hay(been up all night working on this thing, and almost all day as well), see you guys later.

Post any comments and or sudgestions while im gone, i can always use more ideas.

I don't see anything that says dark background mode.
Is it in the snes registers and level modes?

I found something that darkens the background just a little, but it messes with a bunch of other things that i have set into place, such as objects that overlap the player and sprites.

-EDIT-
Ok, rather then post more boring screenshots.
I am going to release a short 2 level... 2 very long level demo.

What the heck, ill post some screenys to.

See yall later.
-EDIT-
Guess no one is going to comment on any of the changes i have made.
And i thought i was doing a pretty good job to.

Ok, Koneko-Level-Appraise-O-Matic Main Screen Turn-On!

Intro: Nice display of graphics, but the cherries are in the middle of nowhere. I like it anyway, though.

Intro2 (new game... you know): Well... the cherries are in the middle of nowhere again... Mushroom Kingdom should probably be capitalized... Treasure has an A in it... I'm sure I saw a missing apostrophe... This isn't all that great, but it's better than a lot of recent intro2s (This is a you're mission!!!)

Overworld: It's great! Except, I would prefer there to be a pic of Toad than just a mushroom-head... Personal preference, I suppose.

Serpi's House: Nice! I really don't have a witty comment here...

1-1: I greatly dislike coconuts. Please stop the hurting. It's ok at first, then the cave, which rules. But then there's the little bit where the previously non-solid bones are solid... I was confused, and thought there would be ground at the bottom, and jumped to my doom. Maybe a different kind of bone, and make it stand out better? I like the midway point and the jumping plants, the rest of the level is ok.

1-2: Yay! Jungle-ness! The water was a little weird, but I liked it. I love the fish you used, much better than the SMW ones. The cloud part is ok, I like the use of the water music. Beezos are pure evil. Rest of level is good.

General Comments:
1. Long segments of jumping on 1x1 blocks are BAD. VERY, VERY BAD. Vines are only slightly better.

2. Backgrounds Ruled. Seriously, I would say OWNZ0R3D but I hate l33t.

3. Mike P Jr? I had no idea the spacing in your screen name was like that. I had always assumed that they were just three random letters tacked on.

4. Graphics in general were awesome. My only suggestion would be to extend Serpi so that it looks right for it to jump on things where Yoshi's feet were... I'm getting this feeling as if I'm being unclear... whatever.

Sum Total:
Good! I'd give it an... 8 out of 10. If the quality remains the same, I will probably play the full game if and when it is released, though I will expect minor annoyances.

Just outta sheer robo curiosity, you know Wario's not a villian anymore, right? It's neat that he's the badguy and all, but it doesn't seem like something he'd do.

Though on second thought stealing treasure from the Mushroom Kingdom sounds exactly like something he'd do.

Lol, sorry, i knew i forgot to say something about the levels, yes the bones are platforms, and the jumping is my style of chalenges you are going to get more of that, the good thing is their is no time, so just be patiant.

Oh and yeah, in MIKE P JR because my name is michael and the P is my middle initial, and ofcource i am a Jr, i do not use made up screen names, it is just how i am.

I am still working on serpi because well he kind of dose not sit on the ground but in it.

And yeah, i can not stand the mario world fish, not sure why but i don't.

Those levels are not going to be in the real game when i am done, they were just there to give folks an idea as to how my levels are going to be, but i will calm down the difaculty a bit but you will still have some jumping.

And yeah, i meant to change the word treasure, but i was in a rush.

And i just do not feel that a game such as mario should have to make alot of since.

I used to whatch the mario cartoons, and i loved how in the adventures of super mario bros 3 cartoons the world around the marios did not make much since, they would hop up one pipe and then come out in a really odd place.

I just loved that.

Im also looking to have alot of exploration in this hack, IE go one place to get a key then amke your way back, oh and for power ups look in the trees without coconuts, you will find apples their.

I felt that blocks with power ups were to obvious.

And their will be parts of the game that you will get other power ups but only for that level, you will lose that power up at the end of the level you got it.

But i will make sure that their are plenty of big power ups or apples to be found.

Also the cherries sit in the middle of nowhere in super mario bros 2 so that is why they are the same way in this game.

And like i have said befor, mario games are suposed to be odd, but ill make sure it is still fun.

As for wario being the bad guy, well look at it like this not long ago donkykong was marios adversary in a new game after being a good guy for so long, so why not.

I mean bowser is overused, wart was in a dream by mario, so why not Wario?

Hey, man. The physical properties of Warp Pipes are complex. Maybe your puny human mind is simply to simple to comprehend their complexity!

Really, though, Wario's pretty bad. He did try to take over Mario Land at one point. Wario really is a villian, he's just not obsessed with defeating Mario or kidnapping the princess. He branches out into stuff like Minigames, but even then he usually ends up swindling people out of their work.

What about the warp pipes, i said i liked how in super mario cartoons how the pipe would take mario from one place to like a another place in such an odd way.

Now really, is their any need to be rude like that, how do you know my mind is puny?

I said i loved how it did that.

Please be a little nicer from now on, please.
Unless you useing sarcasum.

And yeah, wario is still a bad guy, i mean come on, all he dose in this is steal the royal treasures.

See this game takes place at the same time that the marios are of battleing calculeta, no one is around cept the mushroom folks includeing toad, and so that is how this game turns out the way it dose.

But anyhow, i still need to change the word toad so that it is more.... i don't know, pretty to look at.

Their was something else, but my mind is not working right at the moment...... ummmmmm well i do need to fix the title screen, i keep forgeting to do that.

I knew I forgot to mention something... The "Time Up" when you die is evil, and I know someone released a patch that fixed it... Look around.

I like the fact that jumping is the basis for your levels, as it stays true to the 'Mario' theme... but such tiny platforms are too hard for many casual gamers.

Please try to use better spelling, I don't mean to be mean but I have difficulty reading what you have to say.

Ok, well, i could always double the platform space.
Rather then 1 ill use 2.
But their will be moments when you will have but one platform to land on, i mean it has to be have some chalanges.

As for my spelling, i tend to try to speed type, and when i do i mess up big time on my spelling.

But so far i have fixed the title screen and i can understand for the minor text haveing one color but since i like colors, each word has it's own color rather than each letter a different color.

Im still messing around with the status bar at the top a bit.

Oh and what do you mean by patch?

I ask because i do want to get rid of that, as do i want to get rid of the score count at the end of each stage, all i want it to do at the end of a stage is say course clear, and not add up time to the score.

Im also going to look into getting rid of that blasted fadeing at the end.

I just don't like it.

At the moment i am trying to figure out how to make the games levels more explorative, and i think i know of a way.

I think i would mearly have to make more then one level for each stages levels.

So, to recap, i want to get rid of the fadeing at the end of every level as do i want to get rid of that blasted time up screen, and i plan to also get rid of the score tallying at the end of every stage.
