In the Super Mario World hacking forum, BMF displayed a stern warning not to bump old threads. But he said no-one ever reads these kinds of threads anyway. I was the first replier, telling him about the option on Invision Power boards to automatically delete threads that are a certain number of days old, and suggesting that this be implemented on Acmlm's board. He said this wasn't a good idea becuase some might contain important information, however there were suggestions of automatically locking threads that were more than 2 weeks old, or something like that. People like me and BMF at the Super Mario World hacking forum think it would be a good idea if Acmlm designed a system to automatically lock threads in different forums after a certain number of days that the moderators agreed to. Could this be done? |

It's been talked about too many times. I doubt very seriously it will be done and the reason is simple: People SHOULD be able to exercise common sense. For the reasons of some threads may be well off being bumped for necessary reasons and the fact that most people know not to touch a dead thread it wasn't implemented. |
