So I was looking at the back of my computer a while ago, which I don't often do, when I realized I had a joystick port for those way-old joysticks. I dug out this old-style 2-button stick from my basement, and it mostly works! (One button doesn't respond and the Y axis keeps decalibrating - it has an analog adjustment - but it still works mostly. ) Well that's great for playing Star Soldier and failing horribly, but that's hardly interesting. So through some Googling I found a little program called Joystick-To-Mouse. It's an old program that lets you - you guessed it - emulate a mouse with a joystick. So I'm using it. It's a pain only being able to left-click but otherwise it's quite neat. Takes some getting used to though.

I actually have two joysticks and a joypad for PC's.

And to be honest, they're never of any good quality when they're made for PC. Not odd why people buy convertors and use their SNES/N64/Gamecube/PS2/X-box controller instead. :/

That depends on which brand that made them. Logitech is known for good quality.

I want a control like that, Boom.dk.

Other than a direct interface between the controller and the computer, I don't see much difference between a playstation2 controller with an appropriate adapter with force feedback support

anyways, a joystick for a mouse...reminds me of the ibm mouse thingy for its laptops...i like that thing over the touchpad...

My Saitek P880 is almost like a PlayStation controller, but wider and with different buttons, and it works pretty well ... I've controlled the mouse with it before too, fun thing to do when bored but that doesn't beat what you did with the old joystick

If I didn't recognize the quote, I probably wouldn't want to either.

I personally never saw the need for joysticks. Then again, all I play is WoW nowadays. If I was still playing UT, then possibly...

Aww..but I clicked on it! No doubts about it..interesting..

I never used a joystick at all, never saw the need for it or have any PC games to use it for or anything.

I am not much of a joystick fan. I find them to difficult to use. Gamepads, in my opinion, are much easier.

I'm not much of a fan for joysticks, honestly. I'd probably take the keyboard over a joystick.

A keyboard for just regular games and emulation on the other hand, gets a little old. It doesn't make the game any harder or anything, but my arms just get a little tired from it afterawhile.

Soon I plan on buying a USB adapter for PSX controllers so I can use those. My friend has one that supports two controllers, and it was like $8.

I have never really had a joystick. But for Joypads I have the Saitek P2500 RUMBLE. It completely blows. The rumble function doesn't work with any games that it is designed to and I have had it for less than a year before it became unresponsive. The drivers and installation is horrid too.
