The preferred victim of my hay fever flavoured waffling would be of course the doctor, and yet I feel he will do nothing but prescribe me some useless anti-allergy tablets and pat my backside in a highly unwanted manner, and so it is to you I turn to vent my passions.

My nose is blocked and so I become annoyed in the day and dehydrated in the night.
My eyes itch like crazy and so I wake up with glued-together eyes that look similar to a disgusting person

Well, tissue isn't medicine so it wouldn't really do that much. :\ Trust me, when I have a cold, I could have all the tissue I want and it won't do that much.

Best thing you could probably do is check out some over the counter allergy medications... either that or avoid going outside if you can on high pollen days.

I have to disagree with you about tissue. It really helped me get through my recent bout of diarrhoea.

Blast those high-pollen days. They need to invent some sort of breathing apparatus that repels pollen.

You know, allergy medications really do help a lot. You could be stubborn and bitch about it, or you could at least TRY something that might help you out.

Exactly, If you aren't going to do something to try and stop it then you can't complain about it. Besides if you go to the doctor you can get a shot that will help your alergies.

The only symptom that I get from my alergies is dry eyes. So I just carry around a tube of Clear Eyes...Wow....

Sorry I had to do that....

Hello Ben! *waves* (ps, you know me as ChibiTaryn)

Well, I used to have really bad hayfever, and I used to take a lot of antihistamines for it. Thing is, I'd get a tolerance for each antihistamine I tried after a while, and then they wouldn't work anymore.

All I'd do was go from antihistamine to antihistamine trying to find something that works. And if you DO see a doctor about it, make sure you tell the doctor what you've tried and tell them that it hasn't worked.

A friend I live with used to have hayfever too, and he recommended seeing a naturopath. I've not done so, but I wonder if it might help.

Tom, he said he has tried everything

On a similar note though, it's funny that we would rather something mechanical rather than a pill to solve our problems. Perhaps it's the fact that we subconciously cannot see the effects of medication, and would rather a physical solution.

Right now, I'd love filtering air-conditioner over a pill

(Oh, and I've said hiya to you already, Ben )

Well, I have mixed luck with doctors.

I have had some really awful doctors, and I have had some really good doctors. I have been misdiagnosed and ignored by some doctors, and others have bent over backwards to find a solution to things.

Like I had to shop around with antihistamines, I've had to shop around with doctors to find one I liked.

I rarely go to the doctor. The way my mom sees it, it's better that I suck it up than waste money on a doctor that won't help.
Last time I went was when I had a problem with my toe. We couldn't even get a conversation with the doctor, because after spending forever in the waiting room, he'd try to treat us while talking on the phone with his insurance company. He'd get a sentence in, then step outside for five to ten minutes to keep talking on his damn cell repeat. We spent forever waiting to get anything from him, and when he's finally done he says he's actually a foot doctor for kids so doesn't really know what to do. I should soak it in water, he said. If it doesn't heal maybe I ought to make an appointment with them (right) so they can cut out my toenail. wtf.
We couldnt even talk to him, it was ridiculous. After all that he gives some BS answer that my mom could've told me to do. Waste of time and money.
I don't have clear memories of doctors past that time, since I rarely go, but I remember always disliking the doctor. Like, personally. I don't know why, there's always something about them that gets under my skin.

As for hay fever, I have allergies too. I've been told to try the medicine, I never have, but my mom doesn't give a damn and doesn't want to spend the money. A while ago the allergies got really bad, I kept feeling like I couldn't breath right and it was all just hell. It seems to have lightened up back to where I just sneeze a lot.

I've had the same doctor since I was a year old, this guy has given me pretty much every shot a kid needs growing up, ect. He's really cool, his family is really cool, it's all just cool. So I don't really fear going to the doctors too much.
