Hi there^^

After a long period of time, I updated my website again. It's a complete rewrite of the page with an english version included as well. But the reason for this thread is another one: I created some little tools written in C that make life easier if you want to change palette-data within an SNESrom. Of course, I wrote a tutorial that explains how to handle the tools as well.
If you like, you can give it a try and go to my website at http://www.Digisalt.de. Any feedback is desired.

So long, FloBo

That looks really useful, FloBo! Until now I've been having to make ZSNES save states, look them up in vSNES to get the palette, and then use a palette editor to find the string of code that contains the palette. A long drawn-out process which could certainly be made quicker.

Yeah! That's exactly why I wrote them... perhaps I should write another tool for exporting palettes from ZSNES savestates as well...

Ok!

Awesome! Great work on this one.

Also, nice update to your website, it looks much better now. Any news on your German translation of Lufia - Fortress of Doom?

Does SNES9x handle palettes differently? I never use ZSNES and prefer SNES9X. One reason I hardly ever attempt to modify SNES palettes is that it's such a hassle to see which colors are being used.

And your site layout does look great. Wunderbar!

snes9x savestates are usually compressed.
you'll have a hard time finding information in there.
btw, heian, have you read my last pm?
would be great if you could find some time to reply to it.

Yay^^ Thanks for the feedback from all of you!! Glad you like the new layout

@d4s: There's a decompressor out on the net for SNES9X savestates, so finding data within 9Xstates easily possible, but it's much easier meddling around with ZSNES saves because you don't need decompress and recompress all the time...

@Heian-794: I realized SNES9X kind of messes palettes up when I tested my searcher-tool and recognized it refused to work when using SNES9X-screenshots... anyway ZSNES uses the technically correct decoding for palette data, so I'll stick to this one...

@Ok Impala!: I didn't have much spare time recently, so progress goes slowly... anyway, I'm currently improving my Lufiatools, so this should speed up the translation-process in the future... there'll be another release this summer, I think^^

Ok!

Please keep me informed on those tools you're using for this translation project. I'm very interested to translate this game in the future myself. But first things first, Zelda III - A Link to the Past translation.
