I speak English. (OK, technically, I speak American, because I use words like "elevator" and "apartment" and spellings like "color" and "center.")

I don't know any other languages, except maybe a few words...

I speak english, too. The butchered version if that's what you want to call it, as I've lived in California my whole life.
I'm learning spanish and I'm pretty good at it, but I'm not advanced enough to actually carry on conversations.

I'm sure we had a thread about this not too long ago...

Anyways, I speak Norwegian, English and some German. My written English tends to be better than my spoken English. When it comes to German though, I'm best at speaking.

Edit: Oh, and I prefer to spell words in British English rather than American English... Maybe it's because our very first English teacher said that we had to learn it in the traditional way...

I am currently speaking English. As for my spellings, I seem to use a mix of British and American spelling...

And I can't speak any other language, although knowing my Spanish teacher maybe I know some French.

My spelling is almost entirely American, but I think there are a few British spellings in there, like "axe" (not sure if it's a British spelling or just an alternate spelling, but I like it better with the "e.")

On the other hand, I think that the phrase "Hoovering the carpet" sounds cool.

English, which accounts for probably 99% of my oral skills. The other 1% would be whenever I have to speak French, which I can do passably.

English, in the homeland

I also learned French until I was 16. I'm rusty, but I pick it up very quickly when I go to France. I used to get A grades in my written French coursework, probably because with a dictionary I could always get the syntax spot on. Well, the proof is always in the pudding, and I always end up picking up new words It's a beautiful language

That's about it.

I can speak a good amount of Spanish, but I'm horrible at writing it.

HH: How's the Japanese learning experience going for you?

Anyway, I can speak English, Spanish (although not as much lately, and gradually losing it), and Japanese (I would say I'm an advanced beginner -- I've got the basics down pat now -- and know about 400 kanji).

French is a gorgeous language...But I still stand by my scruples and I hold the stance that the language of true lovers is Italian.
