| Lovely, that would cause problems as the server wouldn't reach the MySQL server, which actually runs on Linux. Honestly, you can do anything with Linux nowdays. Even play the newest games with Cedaga. The only problem with Linux is how hard it is to configure and install stuff. Using it is easy.  Thought, progress is done in this area with certain distros.Thought most Linux distros have a better installer than Windows. Most don't know this as Windows XP is preinstalled on their computer. | as linux comes up with a big repetriore (sp?) of drivers, eventually there should be no problems switching to linux at a hardware level--which is the hard part of installing linux i find... i wonder, how much support for USB and Firewire/IEEE1394 is there in linux? |

| There is tons of screenshots of Doom 3 running in Linux. Look it up, hell. Almost every game ID makes is available for Linux. So it didn't come as a surprise for me. Perfomance wise it should run as fast as it does on Windows. Thought ID does list lower system requirments officially. If I get Doom3, I try to install it into Linux just to show you. |

| What exactly does IRL stand for anyway? But seriously... I can't tell the performance here. I just found a computer barely powerful enough to do 8FPS. And it doesn't have Linux for me to check the port for it. So just try it yourself. |
