Aerogel, the lightest solid on earth, is 99.8% air.

A light year is approximately 5,865,696,000,000 miles.

The probability that two randomly chosen integers are coprime is 6/pi^2.

Diamond is not only the hardest natural mineral on earth, it's also chemically identical to graphite (the stuff they made pencils from a century ago... quite fragile, as you probably can imagine) - they only differ in how the crystal grid is built up.

There is very high chanches, considering with the medical breakthroughs that probably is done in the next 30 years. That we will reach at least a middle age of severeal hundreds years, in our lifetime.

Scientists finds the secrets of aging, how to stop it and how to repair the damage. (in other words, how to reverse aging). And some of this could be possible with nano-bots. Which could lead to our doom according to some people too...

Is that really a piece of science trivia?

Anyway, in contrast to horror movies in which they appears, octopi are usually timid and flee if someone or something comes near them.

Why not? There must be some science to it.

Interesting objects: Supersolids and superfluids. A supersolid is like a 'liquid solid'. It retains its shape like a solid but you can put things in it like a liquid. A superfluid is like a zero-gravity liquid. It not only takes the shape of its container but will flow straight up and out the top! (I wonder if there are supergases too? What would they be like? )

Also I think fire is technically a plasma; neither solid, liquid or gas. Another interesting note is that while not organic it shares many attributes of a living thing. It requires air and food (wood, gas, etc), it creates offspring, it grows... Pretty damn strange if you ask me.

Fire is just a form of energy made visible. It is technically a fluid.

A fluid is any substance that flows. Therefore, your hair is a fluid.

I don't think that's quite the same. Some people think glass is just a really really thick fluid though.

One of the ingredients of dynamite is peanuts.

Hair is a plaible solid polymer, only about 10 percent of which in humans is water. The rest is made of a protein called keratin.

Plus I think "flowing hair" is just an expression.

A .365 caliber bullet fired at just under the speed of light could theoretically produce a just-slightly-more-than-one megaton explosion.

Well, actually, it could produce an amount of energy equal to that count. Not necessarily an explosion.

It won't? Why not?

Because it doesn't have sufficient cosmic mass to cause an implosion from the remnants after it goes Red Giant. Our sun will expend its final fuel stores and then become a brown or white dwarf. It's too small to form a neutron star.
