Just post something random about science.

Mirrors.
The reason why text is flipped in a mirror is not because the light is the horizontal is reversed but because the spatial is reversed. If you look in the mirror that's north of you, you see the light that bounced off of you that was going north but then started going south because of the mirror. So text along with everything is no longer being seen at its "angle of intent."

For proof, find something transparent to write on it with a marker (plastic wrap or a cut-out from a clear plastic bag will do) and write your name on it. Take it to a mirror and look at it in the mirror with the side you wrote on facing you. The mirror will reflect the side you didn't write on.

Mass doesn't equal weight.

Gravity is usually determined by how fast/slow the spin of an object is and how big it is.

The scientific name for water is dihydrogen monoxide.

Scientists don't know whether the universe will expand forever or eventually contract on itself, because they can't determine how much dark matter there is.

Potasium reacts violently with water.

Water is also known as hydrogen hydroxide.

Carbon nanotubes are 1.1 times stronger than diamond, but we haven't managed to make too much of the stuff.

About half of people don't think that there's gravity on the moon. Most of these people think you can counteract that fact with heavy boots.

It may be pretty difficult to understand and hard to believe, but the density of an object actually has nothing to do with its ability to melt.

How hard a substance is has nothing to do with how tough it is. For instance, it's actually very impractical to craft a diamond sword as it would break too easily (Amongst other reasons).

I thought about that. It'd probably work alright if it was coated in steel or titanium or a similiarly strong yet lightweight metal.

What would be the point if it were coated in metal? Now, a titanium sword with a diamond edge, perhaps...

Light is affected by gravity, thus why black holes are black - they suck light right in and it doesn't get out.

Isn't mass like horizontal weight? Hard to explain... Say you're on the moon, if you jump you only fall with 20 pounds of force, but if you run you build up 120 pounds worth of momentum, because your mass hasn't changed. (And you're hella skinny. )

I don't think so. If you're on the moon, you'll weigh less than what you will weigh on earth, but you'll also move slower, meaning that your momentum will also be smaller.
I wouldn't try to think of mass as horizontal weight. It's too confusing.
