OK, all you college kids, check this out. So, last night, we roll up a keg into my dorm room, heh. Word spreads pretty quickly, and a bunch of people drop by to see it. Well, a little later, we're talking to the RA, Ann, and she asks, "Is it true that you guys have a keg in your room?" in an excited tone. Well, just then one of my friends walks by with a huge thing of cups, and we all just crack up. Then she calls one of her friends and tells him how it's so cool that her residents have a keg on her floor. Then she asks if she can see it, so we take her back and show her (which freaked out the people in the room who didn't know she was coming), and she tells us how cool that is, and says, "If anyone asks, I didn't know anything about this."

Erm, nah, I have several friends who would disagree with you.

Chaz went to borrow a lighter from the RA. RA says "You're not going to use this to smoke weed or anything right?"

15 minutes later, a recognizable smoke wafts from their room out into the hallway. The RA goes in and says, "I asked you if you were going to smoke weed with that and you said no."

RA then walks out laughing his ass off.

Are you happy with yourself, knowing that you violated the rules, willingly?

Haha, just kidding. Sounds like some good times.

Ehehe... the only time we'd ever get busted for anything was if an RA from another floor came up after us. He was an asshat, but all of our RA's were generally cool.

I assume this has something to do with Halls at uni...

Our prefects are useless... We have had numerous wakeup calls via the fire alarm because of pranks involving tin foil and microwaves.

We also have "bitch" scrawled into the walls downstairs, after a grudge a few months back between one flat and another.

The funny thing is that the place I live in is one of the better places My friend lives in a house, and has twice arrived home to see burglars walk out of his front door

I can't wait to go to college. It seems pretty fun, right now i live in a town with not much diversity and you basically know most of the people in the town. I want to move to a place with more diversity among races.

I think RA's have to be mostly cool due to the fact that if they were super-strict, nobody would want to live in the dorms or they'd take their social life somewhere else and get in trouble with the law.

Hey...I'm just down the road...and at a better place.

Let's see here...we all know the name "The Ohio State University," and know and love the Buckeyes. Well-known school, good and well-known athletics department, and one end of the oldest college athletic rivalry in the nation.

Eighty miles southeast of OSU is a little city of 19,000 people named Athens...precisely halfway between Marietta (first city in the Northwest Territory) and Chillicothe (original capital of Ohio). Athens is the home of Ohio University, the first university in the midwest. With the students present, the population of Athens jumps to about 45,000 people (grad and med students included).

Quaint little place. There are parties here. Lots of them...many more per capita (and likely just plain more) than than you fellows eighty miles up US 33. Almost nightly, even. Not necessarily at any one location...but any student house is likely to have at least two parties in a ten-week period, and with the greater majority of the upperclassmen and grad students live off campus...heh heh.

Not only that, but we bigger parties here too. More people per party. More drinks per person. Not to mention, the music's better.

And then...there's two huge parties. There's the annual Athens Halloween Block Party (how often have I spoke of this, really?) the first Saturday after the 30th of October. The costumes are...wow. There's always something spectacular up there. Get some beads, and you'll find it ain't just Mardi Gras in New Orleans where women do that.

The other biggie (though definately not as big) is Palmerfest. That happens in May...can't remember which weekend exactly offhand. Name for the street it came from: Palmer. The fest grew to include the surrounding area. Huge annual drinking party, with...shall we say...interesting and original games to play while you're there. You'd be surprised what people can think of to do with a wading pool.

Now...here's the funny part. We have a better record on Academics than OSU.

For those who don't know what on earth I'm trying to do...this comes from a little dispute OU and OSU had in court, over the name "Ohio."
It's ours.

LOL True, you guys definitely have the Halloween parties covered, but I don't know about the parties... I'm happy as long as there's a keg in my room, LOL. And I'm in the honors dorm... Ha ha....

Maybe we don't match up entirely to Ohio State (didn't Playboy disqualify you on the basis that they don't rate professionals?) but we could probably hold our own come May Weekend. Or Senior Week. My vewy first bender. Weekly beer pong tournaments? That was sophomore year. Too bad someone had to take a header off a balcony and then the school started cracking down on alcohol... Then again, one of my friends died driving drunk, so they probably realized it's better to keep the action on campus.

An RA is a Residence Advisor-- basically someone who lives on the floor with us, usually an upperclassman, and watches over us, makes sure we don't break the rules, etc.

Are you SURE we don't live in the same town? My town is practically 100% white Christians who are all related to each other...not me, I moved here in 1997 and my family is all from Detroit.

Small towns suck.
