1) WTF is that smiley...that could help me out a little.

2) Even if this was a joke, it's not funny at all. Not in the least bit, except for the fact that you posted it.

Next thing you know, we'll find out that Hitler actually wanted to create a country for the Jews, and the paperwork just got mixed up, so they got sent to the concentration camps Hitler was setting up for criminals instead.

BTW, this reminds me of one of those Onion historical things from their book Our Dumb Century. Man, that's a great book, I should pick that up sometime.

Exactly - There were plenty of tensions to begin with, it would have begun anyway (just a bit later) if he weren't killed

There's no way of knowing that...for all anybody knows, Venezuela could have invaded Mexico or something, and started a war on the Western Front.

Looking back though, we could say other events would have happened whether the assassination of Ferdinand did or not. Germany would have been invading people one way or another with Kaizer Wilhelm leading em. The tensions actually began in the 1880's after the distribution of land to big countries.. .wtf is it called again? My WWI mind just went blank. Someone help me remember here!

Erm.... no. Kaiser Wilhelm has a lot more to do with it than Ferdinand... actually, alliances and land problems were a much bigger issue... So... in short, no.

Look. The Serbians killed Ferdinand, and then Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. Then everybody took sides, and we all kicked Germany's ass.

Note that it took all of us to beat Germany. Twice.

As for the thread title...I don't buy it.

You're only one letter off. I will continue to refer to him as "Dark Lord Steak"

Oh, this was a serious announcement? He'd be like, 150 now! This sounds like a headline for the Global News or whatever that one tabloid's called.
