what are you talking about? where are you getting these numbers. RAM is measured in MB not MHz (which is the measurement for CPU speed)

You're trying to create the 1) dumbest 2) most confusing 3) most absurd thread ever? Pick 2 of 3. |

What type of CPU do you have, Pentium 2, Pentium 3, Athlon, Duron, Celeron? What does it say when your PC boots up (The BIOS screen) |

Right now it says Pentium 433mhz, but it used to say 866mhz. Its a PIII (edited by Angel on 04-03-04 03:09 PM) (edited by Angel on 04-03-04 03:10 PM) |

I'm going to say that his bus changed from 133 (PIII default) to 66 (Celeron default). You didn't happen to... you know, go into the BIOS, or fool around with anything inside the PC, specifically jumpers or DIP switches on the motherboard... |

Well that sounds like something seriously messed up. When the computer starts up, it should say something like 'Press F1 for setup' (it might be a different key), press that and check all the CPU Speed, bus, and other related settings.

HyperHacker: I think prebuilt Gateways are F1... most real computers are delete. But, with an older P3 board, it's probably not BIOS configurable... Angel: I have a feeling it's been 433 the whole time. Tell us what motherboard make and model your PC has and we might be able to tell you how to set it to 133FSB instead of 66. |

No it hasnt been 433mhz never has bene because I used to be able to run SWG and L2 fine. Its a custom make. Made it myself. P3 833mhz, GeForce FX5600, 37gb HD.

Intel Pentium III 833mhz, this what you mean? But the system says it has only 433mhz, when I just powered down and checked the motherboard itself. |

No, that's your CPU model. The motherboard is what the CPU is plugged on. Makers are Asus, Abit, etc...

I know what the motherboard is I just dont know how to figure out the make of it.

Try reading it, it will say at least a model number somewhere on the board... BTW: there is no such thing as a 833MHz P3... (edited by Yiffy Kitten on 04-04-04 02:16 PM) |

Well you could always try switching the CPU. If another one does the same thing it's your computer/board, if yours does it in another computer (that wasn't already that slow) it's the CPU.
