I never really followed the case as much as I'd like to..

If this verdict means that he really didn't do it, then that's a good thing, right?

No trial verdict of not guilty EVER means they didn't do it. It means that there wasn't enough evidence to convict them. You can never say someone didn't do something for certian - unless you know someone else did it, or they have a damn good alibi, like being in the SuperBowl halftime show

Should be guilty of all charges. The court was getting sick of being on this case so they decided to plead him not guilty. That was the only way he would of got away with it. The case on Simpson that he killed his family got away with it. Bullshit!

This is not the Simpson trial, that's a different story. The jury does not base their verdict on "Being sick of this stupid case", they base their verdict on the evidence presented to them.

Well, he's still HUMAN, Kitten Yiffer. He's just... a very special human. Who likes kids. But apparently *not* in that way.

Bet you anything that the DA who's trying to nail Jacko will try again within 5 years.

They can't do him twice for the same crime. That's double jeopardy. Unless he gets accused of doing it again to someone different.

Cool. I did a moonwalk...to my fridge to celebrate. I also listened to Thriller.

Seriously though, I never thought he was guilty either, and yeah, people just wanted money.

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.

I expected it. I think he probably should have been found guilty on at least one of the counts, but I expected him to be found Not Guilty on all charges. I also expected, in the unlikely event of him being found Guilty on any/all of them, there would be riots. Perhaps it's a good thing he was found Not Guilty...

I just wish the five-o'clock news would have said something other than this. They were talking about this for the whole damn hour; I didn't even see the weather forecast.

Or rather, lack thereof. There was NO physical evidence in this case. Only an eyewitness account from the accuser, and hearsay from his family (which is NOT allowed in criminal court). Add in the FACT that this family has attempted to sue for money in the past, and has a very shady history, and you get a fuckton of doubt. You can't trust a liar, and that's why Jackson was aquitted.

In case you haven't been reading the thread, this was a CIVIL case. there is no double jeopardy attatched to civil cases. The prosecutor can still try him in criminal court, but since in criminal court, you must prove your case beyond a "reasonable doubt" - which is why OJ got away the first time, but not the second. OJ's defense team put enough doubt in the jury's mind with the missing blood and the racist detective with a vendetta to prevent OJ from going to jail. In this case, the prosecution simply never presented any evidence. You can't convict on testimony and hearsay from an unreliable and dishonest witness.

I'm quite sure he would changes his genes to a whites if he could. And well... of course he is human. But... he looks more like a shaved gorilla than anything now.

Ummm, he didn't WANT to be white.

He had a little thing called a disease that caused his skin to become miscoloured. When that happened he decided to get a full on plastic surgery to lighten his skin.

They could always try to go for the money much like what happened to OJ after his trial (they sued him, didn't they?) but I doubt it. Odds are the family couldn't afford a second trial in an attempt to roll the dice for profit.
