This is all just retarded. Even if we had only one side of the world jump then that continent would sink causing tsunamis and we all remember what happened last time there was a tsunami. If this actually happened it would be pointless anyway you can move something out of a gravitational pull. Even if we did somehow get the earth to move the gravitational pull would just pull us back into the same orbit that we were in. So we need to stop polluting the air and making a whole in the O-zone layer. We made the problem we need to fix it and by having everyone jump sure as hell isn't gonna fix it.

How do you figure we get an entire continent to sink by jumping?

Because if everyone on one continent jumped and landed at the same time it would cause the tech-tonic plates below to be compressed downward and make the continent sink thus causing tidal waves to go out and end up causing tsunami waves.

That's rediculous, the soil would compress and dampen the entirety of the force long before any tectonic plates sank. And even if the entire continent was composed of something nice and solid like quartz, it's not like continents each neatly rest on one plate -- they're very sturdilly connected by the mountains and such that tend to show up along tectonic borders. You're not going to sink a continent without removing a whole lot of rock. Anyway, I figure we stop global warming by throwing all the people who're full of hot air off the planet . As for the conservation of energy bit, it was just a guess because it seemed unintuitive to me. The normal method of figuring out the force needed to send the person into the air and the force to stop them (which are nearly the same) seems like it should be somehow lacking when the goal is to move the same object which causes the people to fall in the first place. I'll run it through a simulation if I feel bored sometime in the near future. |

Well, not everyone agrees, but I'm in the group that just thinks that global warming is part of a cycle in climate. Then it'll cool down into an ice age, then warm up again, and an ice age again, etc.

I think everyone in the USA should jump at once because they are so darn fat. Not to bash the USA or anything. It would be putting all the fastfood to use. Hah! =P Snika |
