Hello, if I am blind and there is a big "search" button that I am overlooking, I appologize. There is a lot of great info on this board, and I was wondering if there is some way to search through all the posts/threads to see if a particular question/topic was already discussed without having to read every single one. Thanks. |

there is no search function because it was abused in the past or overused anyways. i don't think there are plans to bring it back...

However, you can still search using google. Just type in what you want to search for, and then add "site:board.acmlm.org" (without the "s) at the end. (edited by DurfarC on 06-10-05 10:26 AM) |

Its not an admin function, admins just control what the minimum powerlevel is to use it.

For some reason search shows up for me (which it didn't before while being a regular user) but it's... not working for me either. If it's not for every staff member, it shouldn't appear in the menu. neotransotaku:It wasn't abused in the past but... it put strain on the server. Looking through a big database takes a quite deal of CPU power. It bogged the whole server down for a few seconds or so when someone searchs for stuff. Edit: Odd... it works for me now. Oh well, that's good at least. (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 06-14-05 12:53 PM) (edited by Kitten Yiffer on 06-14-05 12:55 PM) |

It is allowed for all staff to search. The search is just buggy as all hell and never really worked right to begin with. |
