Whenever I compile a kernel, it doesn't work. When I use it, it doesn't see the hard drive or something because it can't find the modules when the file it's requesting for is obviously there when you look at the hard drive. Another indication that I think the kernel isn't seeing the hard drive is: It refuses to log anything.

Has anyone seen this before and knows a way to fix this?
