| (Summary on the bottom.) I was hacking SMW, and thought - "How tall is Mario?" So I decided to calculate Mario's height. In order to make the data a real unit, I had to find Mario with next to an actually existing object. I have found a very good source for this data, which is Episode 23 from The Adventures Of The Super Mario Bros. 3. Here is the video page: http://www.yoshilore.com/The_Adventures_Of_Super_Mario_Brothers3.php The video is at the bottom and is zipped. The part is at 6min15sec from the beginning. Mario is touching the door of the White House, which, actually exists. In the video, the door's width was 3.5cm. Mario's height, which I measured his left hand to foot, was 4.4cm. Now I had to get the actual width of the door of the White House. I found a picture that has the door and the height of the White House. http://www.visitingdc.com/s_wh_white_house_address.htm I also need the height of the White House. http://www.enchantedlearning.com/history/us/monuments/whitehouse/ It is 70ft. Now, the door was 9pixels, and the height was 100pixels(including the flag). 100pixels : 9pixels = 70ft : Xft X = 630/100ft Remember that in the video the door width was 3.5cm, and mario was 4.4cm tall. 3.5cm : 4.4cm = 630/100 : Xft X = 7.92 Mario is 7.92ft tall when super! (In the video he is wearing a frog suit) That's 2.438meters. Now, I next calculated Mario's walking speed in Super Mario World. I made Mario run for 1.3 seconds and made him stop. Mario walked 5 blocks in 1.3 seconds... So he walks 3.84615.... blocks in 1 second. Mario's width is half of his height when super. 7.92ft / 2 = 3.96ft This also equals the block's width. 3.96ft x 3.84615...per sec =15.230754 MARIO WALKS 15FEET PER SECOND!!! (5meters) Mario runs twice faster than his walking speed. So.... MARIO RUNS 30 FEET PER SECOND!!! (9.2meters) Mario can win the gold metal every time in the Olympics! (He'll get banned from it if he existed) Summary : (+) Mario's height is 7.92 feet, or 2.3meters. (+) Mario walks 15 feet per second, or 4.6 meters. (+) Mario runs 30 feet per second, or 9.2 meters. | The only problem is many different times they change heights and designs and such of characters, especially back then, and even more especially with cartoon editions like that. This reminds me of a sort of simular idea I was thinking of doing, finding the size etc of Mario by comparing sizes in one of his newest 3D adventures, because Mario won't go through many if any big changes between new adventures, now that tile size and such isn't a problem. However, the game takes place in a total fantasy setting unlike the cartoon, which was a huge aid to your examination. Most likely nobody cares, but I'm going to go through how I think we'd find out some possible Mario measurements from Super Mario Sunshine because this post has inspired me some. As I said, the game is knee deep in fantasy land, with odd mushroom people and short adult plumbers and such, however, we have one normal human in which we may be able to use. Princess Peach looks to be relatively normal in this game if I remember right, so if we could figure out or guess her age, and find out what a person of that age's height and width and length and such would be, taking into account any small possible cartoon style or any other possible things that may change those, such as how she fares decently in sports activities, we can use that to find out in turn Mario's numbers, and with that, find out the stats of anyone Mario could stand near by. Another thing we could use if that didn't work would be the real life objects in the game, such as chairs, tables, buildings, and such. The game probably takes inspiration from real life beach style furniture and such, so we could get averages and find out there. This is all good, but I don't have a working copy of the game anymore and plain suck at mathmatics, so Ikuzou's measurements would have to do for now. |

How credible is Bowser though?  Also if you know Mario's height, you can compare how high he jumps to the jump height of an average person. |

| I looked at Super Smash Brothers. I know Pikachu is 40cm tall. But in the game, MArio is about the size of Pikachu, which makes 8ft wrong... Plus Mario's half as tall as the door of the white house, which makes the door 16feet... Gotta find a better source. |

| Mario also only grows bigger when he eats a mushroom. It could be that he was really just small at the time regardless of the frog suit. In Smash Brothers he is a little taller than pikachu, and grows taller when he does his pose, doubling in size, representing the eight foot tall super mushroom size. Not only that, but pikachu's size is greatly exaggerated because he needs to be greatly exaggerated or else he's gonna end up getting stepped on. And Leg, the word "vagina" holds plenty of meaning to me. EDIT: And if he weighs 500 pounds, that certainly explains why he can smash things into the ground by jumping on them. | Wario's statistics would be a very curious notion. . . but he was never animated, so we have no way of determining it except compared to Mario in some art work..but I bet he would weigh too much to be even realistic if Mario is 500 |

| Super Smash Brothers, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and most likely the future Super Smash Brothers title for the Nintendo console still codenamed Revolution, should not be used for comparing strengths or sizes or any such. Sizes are changed to allow Pikachu not to be stomped on by Bowser without noticing anything. Here's an example, Pikachu is quite short in the more properly sized Pokemon anime, even with a ten or twelve or so year old child, now if Mario is not too taller then Pikachu's size, then Mario'd be a midget. Not only that, that'd make everyone but Giga Bowser not even too much bigger then waist height. The intro to the two games seems to hint at the characters just being toys/trophies played with, I haven't seen any official texts saying this though. In conclusion, SSB/M can't be used for size refrences unless you want the entire game world to be small... unless you use someone like Captian Falcon for size comparisions, then Pikachu would be as tall or taller then you. |

| However that is wrong. . . the Pokemon anime is so misleading in height, and they do it so wrong all the time Because to make it look better I think. Nidoqueen is only a little over 3 ft but she is a bit bigger than Shigeru/Gary on TV! Wailord is also 60 ft long but is not so big at all. They are not right and I bet Pikachu is a little bit different, too. |
