| Just wondering, what makes some people tick? Time and time again, some people come back for more. They aren't loved - in fact, some could say they're hated. Yet, they continue to return. I'm not just talking about posters on a message board. People do the same thing in abusive relationships, going back to the man/woman who treated them like shit. Others go back to a job that they weren't appreciated at, or overworked and underpaid at. Why do people insist on being persistant when they should have just GIVEN UP long before? |

| I think the term for that would be 'resilient', at least an attempt to be as such. You'd have to look up a few psychological references for that, but basically it's that; some people won't take no for an answer regardless of the consequences. Intelligence or not it really doesn't mean anything in the area of being stubborn where logic may or may not really matter in their case just as long as they hope to achieve their ambition. As pointless as it may seem to others, it might not be so to them, basically. |
