The new weapons being studied range from hunter-killer satellites to orbiting weapons using lasers, radio waves, or even dense metal tubes dropped from space by a weapon known as "Rods from God" on ground targets.

How the fuck is he going to hit a specific target when he

They fall. The incredible speed they build up causes them to EXPLODE when they hit the ground.

Unfortunately, most tracking systems would short out before it hit the ground, making accurate aiming a huge concern.

Hey, if this replaces using soldiers in Iraq, I'm all for it.

Maybe they'll have the 'soccer ball' with the president now--the device which triggers orbital armegeddon.

Why can't we just give every country in the world a doomsday's device (as in Strangelove) and get either everlasting peace (yay!) or complete devestation (which is the road we're headed anyway )?

Or this, we make doomsday devices that we have a defense against and then give them to other countries. Then we make a super doomsday device and just kill them all for being dumb enough to take are doomsday devices. Or we could just burn every thing that we felt like...I like fire.

You see, there are bad ideas.

Like stockpiling chemical/biological weapons.

Then there is starting a new, VERY expensive arms race.

You're talking about a President who:

-Went to war in a country for oil and money, had it backfire, and refuses to admit defeat,
-Wants to privatize social security,
-Campaigned on banning gay marriages (which you haven't heard ShIT about since his re-election),
-Called his opponent a flip-flopper, when he's changed his mind on stem cell research and MANY other issues countless times,
-Thinks that he is a messenger of "God".

You think that applying LOGIC to this is going to get you anywhere, Ziff? Har har!

It's cool, and whatnot... but it is absolutely NOT needed. There is no nation out there with the capability to take us on as it is, only rogue cells try to take us on, and would be taken out by now if not for a fruitless war in a country that had far less involvement with them than other, richer, more powerful nations like Saudi Arabia. What we need is not weapons that have the impact of a small nuclear warhead, we need more laser-guided smart bombs aimed right at the mouths of caves, or mosks in the cities of Iraq, to take these bastards out.

Well, I'd like to be a part of a NORAD that can rain Rods of God down on people. Especially if we up in Canuckia can make it shaped like penii. So it's that much funnier. You know, just for jokes. Run a giant metal penis through a deer while Putin and Bush are on a hunting trip.

Not only is it a bad idea, strategically speaking...It's a worse idea economically speaking. When your national economy is based on selling your debt, and people have stopped buying...

Bush's idea of economic revival is more government spending through ridiculous projects like this, which puts the country FURTHER into debt and makes us the laughing stock of the world. "HAHAHAHA Those redneck cow fuckers voted for that dipshit AGAIN!" - That's exactly what the world thinks of us. They're right, too.

Clinton's $300 billion surplus, we would have cut the deficit into a small fraction of what it was (if not eliminated it entirely) by now if we followed his economic plans. Instead, we have record debt, record wasteful spending, and the dumbest policies (domestic AND foreign) of any president ever.

Just three and a half more years... that's what I keep reminding myself when it comes to Bush. :\

Never know... the next prez might decide this is (rightly) a pretty stupid idea. That money *needs* to go into defending the country, yup. Education and health are fine I suppose.

It should be fairly noted that part of the surplus came from cutting hundreds of thousands of federal jobs. My mother lost hers at the time. But hey, I guess the tax return was worth it!

Also, if we repaid the national debt, the world economy would crumble.

Remember, google is your friend.

But here:

Under the present system, the money supply would implode. This contraction would strangle the economy and a severe economic crisis would ensue. Remember that the Fed uses government bonds as a base to expand the money supply. Without government debt the Fed loses its most potent economic tool
