| The Watergate scandal was the failed cover up a botched bugulary by some members of the republican party into offices in used by the Democratic National Party. The Nixon administration tried to cover this up but failed when information of this event was leaked to the public. This attempt at covering up ultimately caused Nixon to resign the presidency. The ironic thing here was Nixon and his administration had nothing to do with the attempted break in but for some reason (that I still dont' understand) tried to cover it up.
